Hi Jerry, I remember you talking about this a few years ago. I have been a "Naked Wines Angel" since the company started. I believe that the original team sold out to Majestic Wines a couple of years ago but the system still operates the same way. If you can afford it, you can order your wine from an extremely massive selection; minimum has to be 12 bottles: and they will deliver at a reasonable price as long as you sign up and make a monthly payment. I pay £25 a month; about $33: and use it to pay for our Christmas wine or for wine for other special occasions. The monthly payment allows you to access discounted wine and new blends made by lesser known wine makers. Obviously if you place a large order and your monthly payments do not cover the cost, the additional cost is automatically taken from your payment method. So far, I have not had had a bad bottle of wine.

I bought a Ryobi drill set in 2002 which had a three speed drill, two batteries and a charger. It worked well and over the next few years, I added a jig saw, circular saw, angle grinder, belt sander, multi tool, radio, hedge trimmer and brush cutter to name a few. Obviously, after three to five years, the batteries that came with my first drill died and while this was annoying, it was expected. I then found out that a new battery was astronomically expensive, one reason being that Ryobi had introduced Lithium Ion batteries and over several months, I replaced the dead and dying batteries with the new LI ones. One thing I did find out quite quickly though was that if I bought, say for instance a new two speed hammer drill kit with drill, two batteries and a charger, it cost not much more than buying two new batteries. OK, I now have three drills and three sanders and two multitools but there are many times when I use one to drill, one to drive the screw and still have a spare. All in all, I am happy to use Ryobi tools.

Ink cartridges have always been a rip off. A few years ago; in the UK: it was cheaper to buy a new printer which came with a full set of ink cartridges than to buy a new set of cartridges. This was round about the time that printer manufacturers reduced the price of printers to encourage more people to buy printers. It took them a couple of years to change the ink cartridges to smaller sized ones with new printers.

Bury a dead dog a couple of feet above the body. If the cadaver dogs dig through the protected flowers and plants, the officers should stop once they find the animal body. :-)

I learned very quickly as an apprentice that if I made a spelling mistake in a notice, then everyone saw the notice and told me about the mistake.

I think that the thought process behind this triangle needs to be revisited. As a driver; and an engineer: I look at this triangle/pointer and my mind thinks that it indicates the side of the pump that I have to position the vehicle at in order to refuel.

As an apprentice, part of my training was to produce notices; using stencils and ink pens: for various things. Obviously not yesterday. :-) Needless to say, one day I produced a message with a spelling mistake and neither I nor my supervisor spotted it. This was pointed out to me a few days later by lots of the office staff, mostly with laughter but obviously there were a couple of critical remarks as well. The one thing that I do remember though was the comment made by the chief surveyor who told me that mistakes do happen and we need to do our best to avoid them but that also, a spelling mistake in a notice seems to ensure that everyone sees and reads the notice.

I am a Civil Engineer. I use modern surveying instruments; far more expensive than amature and hobbyist cameras and some professional ones: and if I want a really steady tripod, I use a wooden tripod which cost £250 and supports a Leica Nova Robotic total station which cost £35000. So, apart from the weight of the wooden tripod, I an happy to use it for my £1000 camera. I also have Alloy tripods for my survey equipment which cost from £60 to £300. They are of course a bit more bulky than dedicated photography tripods but they are definitely stable.

I first came across Paint Shop many many years ago when it was a freebie from JASC and came in a bundle of software with a new computer. Over the years, I played around with Paint Shop and Photoshop and now, because of the horrendous pricing of Photoshop, I have Paint Shop Pro on my computer and find that it does everything that I want to do with photographs. It also helped that Corel gave a 75% discount to upgrade to the latest iteration just before Christmas.

It may be that Photoshop has more and has captured the professional market but as a "Snapshot Photographer", I find that I do not need all the bells and whistles and in fact, I do not do a lot of "fixing" to the photos that I take.

I have always enjoyed Michael Weatherly on NCIS and was disappointed when it was announced that he was leaving the show. However, I reckoned that he would be moving on to a show as good; or perhaps better: and looked forward to seeing which programme he turned up in.

Unfortunately, I find that Bull is accurately descriptive of the programme that he is now starring in.

There is nothing whatsoever wrong with the actors or their portrayal of their parts. What is so thoroughly disappointing is that every episode that has been shown so far is weak with little or no substance to the story lines.

This is extremely unfair to both the actors and the viewing public and is certainly a waste of all the actors talents.
