The official Olympus position is that it should rarely be needed; but when it is, do not do it yourself, send it in for service.
On other sites, comments range from the Olympus position to "no big deal, do it the same as on any other camera".
In the video Jerry refers to, the presenter describes a menu setting on Sony cameras that stabilizes the sensor without it being actively recording an image. Is a similar setting available on
I use a Rocket blower, but the vacuum technique sounds useful also.
Would someone with experience cleaning the sensor on Olympus or other cameras with IBIS comment on their technique and risk of damaging the sensor shift mechanism. (Rab-Eye suggested I place this question in a new topic)

If you are considering a 4K monitor, today Amazon has the Dell 27" P2715Q for $450 and the 24" P2415Q for $400. I've been using the 27" version for about 3 months and love it. My video card was several years old and had to be upgraded, so keep that additional expense in mind.
In the past, there have been questions about how to back-up SD cards to a HDD without bringing a laptop on a trip. There is an Amazon sale on a RAVPower FileHub Plus. Normally $49.99 on sale for $30 with code YVZT6QGO. I saw this on Kinja Deals and you may need to go to Amazon from that site for the discount code to work.http://deals.kinja.com/this-30-gadget-is-actually-three-devices-in-one-1746727424
It creates a WiFi network of up to 5 devices and has an SD slot , USB port, RJ45 Ethernet port and a built in 6000 mAh 5V back up battery. You will also need a smart phone or tablet to control the connections.
I have been using the p2715q for 2-3 months. I'm very happy with it. The only caveat is that print is small. For this reason I use my other monitor as the primary and this one for images.
The Trace passes through Tishomingo State Park in the northeast corner of Mississippi. There are stone bluffs, a suspension bridge and small waterfalls there. The leaves may be colorful now.
