Great smile-bringers. I hope you don't mind if I pass them along to a few others...

I agree - - thanks for the 'step back' in time. In the early '60s in the Army, I had the job of repairing
some of the original IBM and UNIVAC computers(?). That was back when the programing was done on
'IBM cards' with holes punched in them; and there were card punchers, verifiers, sorters, printers, etc.
During my assignment to Vietnam ('67-'68), I bounced around to the HQs of various units (96th Inf Div,
196th Inf Bde, +) to help keep their computer rooms running. Now-a-days, when I pull up some of my
photos from those days, that is what tends to amaze me the most at how life has changed . . .

Sorry, but I had to wonder which "camera car" you might have,
and if you meant "car camera" of some sort . . . .

I agree with the others - those are some good shots; and thanks for some memories.
I have many such photos, but would have 'fun' trying to pull them out of the files that
they are 'buried in' today. (I was in the Army, and was stationed at MacDill Air Force
Base from '76 to '79, and then retired in '81 following a final tour in Germany. We lived
in the suburb of Brandon for 32 years before moving up here to SC; and, yes, I'm sure
I took a lot of similar photos. Again, thanks for the memories . . . )

I surely agree with the others, those are some great pictures. When I saw the title of your
posting - "Fall in The Desert" - I have to say that I hoped you had someone to help you get
up. (Just kidding, of course.)
While in the Army, I got to spend two short school-assignments in AZ at Ft Huachuca. (We
often referred to it as 'Fort WhoGotCha'.) I didn't get to see much of the State at that time,
but often said, "I'm comin' back some day." That 'some day' hasn't got here yet, but maybe
'Some Day!'
Again, thanks for the well-done photos . . .

Sometimes when I go to a 'skin doctor', I ask the receptionist what a 'metologist' is.
When she looks weirdly at me and asks what I mean, I tell her that my primary care
doctor told me I have to go there to see a dern metologist. It tends to bring a needed
smile her way.

Sorry, guys/gals, but I personally cannot understand the supposed 'value' in such items.
Those guys were out there 'playing' a baseball 'game'. Now someone wants to take a ball
home to lay on a shelf, or in this case, be locked in a safe for a good number of years?
Why . . !?!?

The decline continues. Amazon has "Hims and Hers" hair products on sale. Just like those "Idiot" and "Dummies" how-to books, I wouldn't buy those hair products because of the name alone. (Not that I have a need for hair products.)

I thought 'hims' were sung in churches, and 'hers' was used in funerals.

Yes, there are many veterans living in the Tampa Bay area, especially because of MacDill!

That happens near most military bases. I was in the Army but assigned to MacDill Air Force Base. That
brought me to my 20-year retirement desires in 1981; thus, buying a house, as opposed to renting, fit in.
After leaving the military, I worked in the Tampa area for about 32 years prior to going into full-retirement
and moving up here to SC. Now we are conveniently close to Ft Jackson where I had gone thru basic training
way back when I was just eighteen. You would not believe the number of veterans in this area....

I agree with the others - - Nice Shots!!
I have to thank you, too, for bringing back some thoughts of where I grew up;
bouncing back and forth between Illinois and Indiana farm-country with various
family members. I left there in 1960 to join the Army with a school buddy;
but, "Oh, the Memories!!"

When we lived down there just east of Tampa, we didn't have many, if any, requirements to
drive across the Skyway; but it was always a nice tourist attraction for family visitors from
up north to see. (I'm sure I have many pictures of it buried somewhere in a closet . . .)

I often make the comment that I was in the room when the word 'procrastination' was invented(?).

Thanks for some memories of an area we lived in for 30 years. I had an assignment
at MacDill AFB prior to retirement from the Army. Upon 'full retirement' from other
jobs, we left there (Brandon) to move to SC and be back closer to family up north.
Again, thanks for the memories! (That is the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, right?)

Sorry, but I now see your heading for this posting that it is the Sunshine Skyway. Oooops!!

Wow!! Those are great!!
You are a prime example of 'photographer'; whereas, I am looked at as a 'picture taker' . . .
