My house was built in the 1870's. When I removed the wallpaper in the hallway I found the original paint, a greenish color and hand painted boarder at the top. In the living room over the fireplace under the old (really horrid) '50s wallpaper I found where the paperhanger had signed it. I knew him when I was much younger. I signed and dated it when I put the new wallpaper up.

Been down those steps a few times. Good pictures. Has that reservoir been killed yet? When Spring comes keep an eye out for the Puk-Wud-Jies that are said to live in the park.

Welcome to Indiana. The entire state is one time, except for some northwest and some southwest counties. Our gutless state idiots decided to let each county decide what time zone they wanted rather than the entire state in one zone. There were a couple that went Central then decided to go back to Eastern.

The parks dept where I work bought two of the Ryobi saws (a case of spend it or you won't get it next year). I used it to get rid of some small trees at our nature preserve. Liked it so much I bought one for my home use. I later bought the shorter one to carry in my truck at work (also for home) I use it for trimming larger limbs off of trees. Since most of my tools are Ryobi I have plenty of batteries. Easy start, quieter, light to handle, especially when walking through brush. Of course, for the larger trees (over 8 " in diameter) I use one of our Stihl saws.

Good shot. I see a few of those around here. One family lowered one and made a gazebo/picnic area out of it.

I remember the F-4s well. My first round of active duty was Air Force (later switched to Army). Last station was George AFB, CA. Our squadron was as training squadron, we trained German pilots in the F-4. This would have been 74-76. Good pictures.

And there are many times when I leave my phone at home, which freaks out my friend...."What if you miss a call?"
"I'll call back when I get home!" DUH!

I sometimes forget my phone at home, I just tell the boss, "I'll be working all day at the Nature Preserve. If you need me come and find me" Sure cuts down on the BS calls.

I hope you were at least in the service and not just a John Aston (Gomez Addams) impersonator 😊😊😊😊😊

Just a year away from retirement, my brother was best man (he wore his), a Chaplin friend of mine did the service and he wore his.

Almost 30 years ago, she made her dress and I was too cheap to rent a tux.

My two cents. The original spelling of partridge was intended. The clue was the phrase "that there". In some parts of the country, really rural or "backwoods" folks have some words that are pronounced in very strange/wrong ways. In the Army I had a couple of Sargent's that worked for me that I had to translate in my head what they were saying, when I was enlisted I had a Captain from Boston that if he spoke rapidly I had to figure out what was being said. I had relatives that came from way back in the hills that this way of speaking was commonplace. Stuff like "zink" for "sink" and "thar" for "there".

After 22 years in the military (71-94) that's been my way of looking at things. Food not good, "I've eaten worse" Sleeping accommodations not 5 star, "I've slept in worse places". My go to: "well, nobody's shooting at us are they?" While enlisted I always thought it was just them, after I crossed over to the "dark" side (SSGT to 2LT), nope, the officers did the same thing. One of my favorite ones is when I was running a compass course (pre GPS days). I had a Major who was complaining that he would never need to do this (all personnel by order of the commander were required to do this training) My Sgt (former Ranger) told me about his pissing and moaning and was there anything I could do. I told him to send him on the course at starting post A to end at post 12 (most went from A to 1, B to 2 etc). Not a good route, but we saved it for the problem people. 3 hours later we had to go rescue him from being lost in the woods.
