Lots of good information here. I've used both SSD and spinners and am in the process of switching to SSD's except for redundant storage. When traveling I use 2 SSDs attached to my MacBook M2. One drive contains a "Traveling" LR catalog and the other is for automatic copies of the files when I import from a memory card into LR. The benefit is I have 3 copies of my images - one on each drive and one on the card and I keep them in different bags. Good Luck!
I came to the same conclusion, that my Nikon 850 was overkill and picked up the Canon R10. For its intended purpose it has been great and brings back some of the fun factor. The good news is with a little extra effort in post and a couple magic plug-ins you’ll be surprised with the results. Good luck!
I ended up sending one of my SB 900's in for repair due to the same problem. Came back as good as need and a lot brighter flash than it's mate! Good luck.
I sold my Tamron, it never felt quite right. I've been happier with the the Nikon 200-500 I replaced it with on my D850. I haven't felt the need for more reach.
Good point. IMHO the only “honest” photographs are those taken by the DMV or traffic cameras. All others are manipulated by the maker even by the choice of what to shoot. Pre visualization and shooting with intent are part of an artistic tradition.
The 25-105 will be fine. Include a plastic bag you can stick the camera & lens in. Florida sun showers can be quite intense. A good sun screen is a must. Enjoy your time with the mouse!
