Those are beautiful! I miss San Francisco. Is that a wide angle or panoramic shot? Sorry, I'm a total newb.

Panoramics, the first one in 3 shots and second one in four shots.

(and not cards.) Taken in Ensenada Baja Mexico harbor. I count at least 23 people and maybe more inside, on a Sunday afternoon boat ride and this was on a Sunday afternoon. At least they are wearing life jackets

"Peabirds?" That's really cute. Never heard them called that before!

Nice captures of a fascinating bird - add them to the bucket list! May I offer a suggestion for even better pics? (I know these were "on the fly", but, still.) look at the backgrounds in these. Most of them have backyard stuff, and a lot have "joins", with the landscape timbers going through the body or head. The 2nd to last is by far the best in this regard. It appears you were outside with them, and they tolerated a little movement - if you CAN, try to sidle to a good angle. It's like hunting to stalk and get a clear shot, but you don't have to pluck feathers!

I will be sure to let the birds know that they have to pose with a decent background behind them. Who would of ever thought that one needs a better background for a better image.

Really good thinking!!

Delightful! Is this an unusual occurrence in your neighborhood? :)

Kind of, they live in a large wooded area a few blocks away but unusual to see them this far from home. Looking at them they are all juniors

I love these fire skys, really nice picture Kenneth, was it hand held?

Geoff

Yes it was hand held, pretty hard to use a tripod on a ship moving at 20 knots and a slight pitching motion going on

Nice shot...seems a bit OOF IMO. I've never been to San Francisco.

Possibly, the ship was moving at about 7 knots, but I did have my aperture set to F22 at the time

Red sunrise in morning sailors take warning - Red sunset at night sailors delight.
Fortunately it did not hold true in this case as the rest of the day was gorgeous

Taken at 6:40 a.m. about 50 miles NE of Hilo
