Great pics of natures sanitation specialist.
I have found that a tripod or other stabilization is the best way to improve your pictures. I have taken picture on tripod and had near 100% success on focus. Not using a tripod about 10%. For macro as stated above or long distance is a must. I have tried shoot the moon hand held and even with tripod I use the timer or delayed setting. I do not understand some thinking they are steadier than a tripod or support. Even marksmen use support of some kind when possible. Ego probably, just to say hand held.
For that lens I would advice to get a gimbal head. There are some on Ebay or Amazon that may not be the best quality but they will not break the bank either. If you are shooting the much weight with camera and lens you need a head that let you balance in the center of weight to get easy and accurate movement, almost a must for the setup that you have.
That is a common lens for the Canon ef-s lens, should find the kit lens very reasonable. They are not a bad lens, just depends on what you want to pay. There are better lens also in that category.
Technology is and will move on. I can remember just a few years ago that film shooters said that digital would never replace film and with in five years the same folks were switching over, the same with all progress, such as automotive and space and etc. Remember computers. The same was said about the telephone. Progress and innovation will move on.
Very good set, but at times it seems you can not capture what you are witnessing and seeing with a camera. I could image this would be one of those times. At least you have the pictures to help with the memories.
I started shoot in RAW about nine years ago and have never really looked back. I tried shooting both RAW and JPEG but for my own preference I just shoot raw. I. like most of you have have not changed my exposure and in RAW if I am under exposed it does not make any difference. I usually shoot on on the darker side and then adjust accordingly. I find in shooting red and yellow especially it helps and then adjust the contrast with the curve adjustments. Other than adjusting exposure I do very little post processing.
You seem to have done a good job capturing all three.
Good local company in Indy. have dealt with in person and also online. Great company with good ratings and helpful and fair and honest.
Have bought from them, their ratings I have always found to be on conservative side, quality was better than expected. I would image the same for buying. Most folks think that when selling the buyer is being too picky. As some one who has dealt in that type of business I have heard the complaint that we are just trying to buy to cheap. That is what you have to do to resell and make a profit. Not every buy is a money maker. If you are responsible merchant you have to check, adjust or repair the item before going on the market, and some warranty used items for a short time. I usually tried to buy most things to have 40% percent gross profit. You have to have enough to pay for your labor, storage and other cost of doing business. I was in appliance repair and sales so there is lot of cost the customer does not see that comes in to play, not as easy as it sounds
Winter wonder land. I have heard folks say there is not any beauty in the winter, I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder as the old saying goes, a good time for b&w. Good job and comp.
Great shot and perspective.
Looks like an old bank barn, not many left in good repair.
Both good no#2 is impressive.
