I recently bought a brand new (but had been stored for over 2 years) unopened Epson Office B1100 an A3+ printer.

It seems to print very dark or more subdued colours, not what I'm after at all. The inks are OEM (they were pre-packed and sealed) and I used the same photo paper as the one in my R265....

My settings in CS5 are Photoshop has priority and usually a profile of Adobe 1998... with ICC disabled.

How do I determine which profile to use without having to pay for it to be done? I don't buy expensive 'named' paper, can't justify it but I always buy a good heavy weight high gloss of at least 260gsm...

I've attached a BMP file, the top half shows the colours printed by the A3 printer, the bottom half is a copy of a colour chart provided by dpullum, the R265 prints out almost identical colours to the bottom half...

Of course, it could be I've done something wrong in which case you haver permission to slap me with a wet fish lol

Thanks again for the advice, whatever I did seemed to have worked, the printer is operating as it should....so I wonder why it hiccupped? I did clean the heads 5 times though lol

I will now post a new topic which i'm sure will get your grey matter working :O)

I'm thinking that myself. Just done another two prints, the first was tinted purple and there are vertical bands appearing and the second just has the bands...very frustrating!!

@dp, Surly mxshooter60 did not think about doing a clean, I'm not as sophisticated as you think LOL...I should have made that my first job!!

The clean seems to have done the job, the prints are as they should be, so thanks again for your comments and suggestion :O)

The program I use for my Epson printers is called SSC Servicing Utility and has been written for Epson Stylus printers only, you can find it on the link below, the actual file to download can be found at the bottom of the page after reading the information, this gives all models it will work with :O)

Thank you all very much for your input, the suggestions are extremely valid...It did occur to me that something might be blocked. So,I've just removed the cartridges and injected some cleaning fluid into the individual head nozzles, now I must wait a few minutes for it to soak though then I shall run a head clean with the cartridges in....it all seems to take ages..

I have a Russian program (SSC Service Utility) which is brilliant and cleans far better than the Epson software will.

I'll update you shortly :O)

I would appreciate your help please, my printer has suddenly started to print with a green tint...very unpleasant!!

Anyone have a suggestion as to what is causing it? The printer is an Epson Photo R265 with a continuous ink system

This is probably not much help but....I calibrated my monitor and had an ICC profile for the printer but could never really get to print out what I see...after many hours of messing about I reduced my brightness to the minimum setting and surprise surprise, it is within 95% of the prints!! Despite what you might think, the monitor does not go dark lol

SharpShooter, yes, the Yongnuo does work on camera with a Nikon. I use a 7D and lent this flash to my son who has a D90...however, the Nissin D866 Pro does not work with the NIkon, it has to be bought camera specific, disappointingly :O) Also, the Yongnuo 622 triggers work on both camera makes ..

My late son was very much into his admiration and study of Native Americans, he would have loved these and the beautiful colours, in fact, he had his own tipi made for himself and I now have a number of personal NA items, including a head dress :)

Thank you..

Pleased you found it of interest...I printed them all out and my son used many of them for his first Portrait shoot, now all he has to remember is to turn his VR off when using a tripod lol

I second that, I've been using North Face E-Tip gloves for over a year, shooting motocross and Equestrian in really cold weather and if you get a Large size (if you're a 'medium hand size) then you can still wear a pair of woolen fingerless mitts underneath...won't feel the cold then LOL
