I'll be heading to Ecuador, renting a condo in Puerto Cayo for three month, just south of Manta. Looking for suggestion to experience festivals, cultural events etc. and street photography. Thanks for your suggestions, Alec
My first Pentax camera was the Spotmetric, purchased in Hong Kong 1966, the Mz-7 the point & shoot Optio, the *ist DS, K-x, and many Pentax lens. Have to confess, I recently purchased a bridge camera, Panasonic Lumix FZ1000, hated to leave Pentax, yes Pentax had a bridge camera, I was told by the Pentax people at a recent photo show, that it has been discontinued. Thus is my reason, didn't wish to luge all the lens around any more. Thank you Pentax you have given me many, many memorably pictures.
Take a look at the Blackrapid model RS-4 quick and easy to use, camera sits at the side of your body, out of the way, until your ready to shoot away!
I use the Black Strap, model RS-4, works real well camera always close the the body and out of the way, but ready for quick shooting, also straps has no brand name on it, does not advertise your camera to would be thieves.
I've recently purchased a Panasoinc FZ1000 camera, the retailer offered to sell me a 4 year warranty for $100.00 Cdn. on sale (regular price 140.00Cdn) is it worth buying? Has anyone experience the camera failing to perform? My research indicated it is a popular selling the camera has been on the market for about three years. Your comments much appreciated. Thanks

Pleased to know that there are many of UHH user of Pentex cameras. My first purchased was a Spot-Matic Ashia Pentex in 1965,really a great camera at the time, unfortunely it was stolen a few years later. Since then I've owned,
Mz-7, and my first digital was a Optio 30. Now I shoot with the K-X, they have all performed well!! Recently I went out shooting with a professional photographer to get a few pointers, he was most impressed by the features the camera had to offer. Like to hear more from Pentex users' experience. Can anyone help me with this one! I have a Fairfax Elevator tripod, forty years plus old, very solid & sturdy, weight, not much more than the newer ones found today. But it lacks the snap off-on feature, I have to screw the camera onto the tripod, is there connector that can be screwed to the tripod that has a snap off- on feature? Thanks, Canuck
