Hi everyone! I'm a member since 2011 but have not visited here for several years. Got caught up in life and caring for others. I have the time again to come here and share, learn, and yes, sometimes drool over the amazing talent produced. I've taken over 60,000 photos in the last few years and look forward to having time to edit them, ask for critiquing on some, share some, and mostly take joy in the talent exhibited in the wonderful photos here. I'm hoping to learn a whole lot too! Thanks for having me back. Oh yes, and I'm now in the TX so a whole lot of new opportunity for photos. Been here 5 years and learning to love it!

I like all 3 but the last is my favorite. Especially like the "jumble" of horns...Funny how we all "see" things differently.

As you get older you tend to better understand why old people are the way they are.

My uncle Lyle once told me many years ago he'd asked his grandfather, age 92 at the time, how old was too old for sex and grandpa Green had said, you'll have to ask someone older than me. I think me may have been pulling my uncle Lyle's leg just a tad.

I wouldn't bet on it. I have worked in and around care homes...you might be surprised...

I just cracked up when I read your comment because I was thinking back to when I worked night shift in a nursing home in Iowa and doing our rounds (every 2 hours checking on everyone) walked into a room one night and there they were, he 98 and she 96 and I'll say no more. The next morning when I went in to get them up (each back in their own room) neither they nor I could stop grinning but not a word was said. Can't stop grinning about it now even...it was the "conspiracy secret".

Your kids are becoming you, & you don't like em. But your grandchildren are perfect! Going out is good. Coming home is better! When people say you look "Great", they add "for your age!" When you needed the discount, you paid full price. Now you get discounts on everything ...movies, hotels, flights but you're too tired to use them. You forget names, but it's OK because other people forgot they even knew you!!! The 5 lbs you wanted to lose is now 15, & you have a better chance of losing your keys than the 15 lbs. You realize you're never going to be really good at anything ... especially golf. Your spouse is counting on you to remember things you don't remember. The things you used to care to do, you no longer care to do,
But you really do care that you don't care to do them anymore. Your husband sleeps better on a lounge chair w/the TV blaring than he does in bed.
It's called his "pre-sleep". Remember when your mother said, "Wear clean underwear in case you GET in an accident"? Now you bring clean underwear in case you HAVE an accident! You used to say," I hope my kids GET married. Now, "I hope they STAY married!" You miss the days when everything worked with just an "ON" & "OFF" switch, when GOOGLE, iPod, email & modem were unheard of.
And a mouse was something that made you climb on a table. You tend to use more 4 letter words like "what?" & "when?" .Now that you can afford expensive jewelry, it's not safe to wear it anywhere. Your husband has a night out w/the guys, but he's home by 9:00PM. Next week it will be 8:30PM. You read 100 pages into a book before you realize you've read it. Notice everything they sell in stores is "sleeveless"? What used to be freckles are now liver spots. Everybody whispers. Now that your husband has retired, you'd give anything if he'd find a job!
You have 3 sizes of clothes in your closet 2 of which you will never wear. But old is good in some things: old songs, old movies, and best of all, OLD FRIENDS!!!
Your kids are becoming you, & you don't like e... (show quote)

I see I'm late getting here to read this one but You are right about everything!!" I bet you never thought you'd hear those words in this lifetime did you? Nice job on explaining how things really are!

woops, pix won't load, too large file

I'm trying to load some but they won't come up, never had trouble before...not sure what's going?

Whoops, went to help and found it's because I was using Explorer, Good old Chrome, never fails me so here we go! I love playing with Macro, light and shadow. Maybe someone can tell me why they are so vivid in my files and look so washed out here? Anyway to prevent that?

Is that Fidel's americian cousin? Your right he didn't take a bad picture, then again he had help, you know the person on the other side of the shutter.

The resemblance is uncanny, isn't it? When I asked him if I could take his pic, he asked me to wait while he got his Sherlock Holmes outfit; thus the coat, hat and cigar. Then someone dug up a magnifying glass. It was a group effort :-)

These are great! What fun that must have been!
