If the card was going bad, then wouldn’t the original file show these artifacts? These lines do not show up on the images until I export them from Lightroom, after I have imported them from the card.

Is there a way to check the card to see if it’s going bad?

My experience was that sometimes it did and sometimes it didn't. Sometimes the problem showed and the next time it didn't but showed up on export. Sometimes the photo looked fine on screen and the export manifested the problem. It was entirely a crap shoot. I tried all sorts of things but the only thing that worked was replacing the CF card. Once I did that the clouds cleared and the sun began to shine again. For the price of a card what do you have to lose?

This was my experience and indeed your problem may have a different solution.

Have had this happen before and the cause was a CF card starting to go bad. Replaced the CF card and problem solved.

All good responses but once you have it narrowed down to 3 or 4 make sure the bride and groom have a face to face with the actual photographer. Run through some basic questions, including how they handle unforeseen circumstances such as a rain storm, bug fest, hair disasters etc. and get a feel for the photographer and his/her general demeanor. Does the photographer carry bobby pins, safety pins, tape etc. to handle off beat problems. Keep in mind that the photographer, while not officially a day planner, they should be able to keep things running as smoothly as possible and be able to switch it up if required. In the end, if your not comfortable, move on.

Just a note on "fake" mats. I don't often print, but when I do...
I often add a fake mat. One thing that really makes them work is to bevel the inside edge of the matt so it looks like a real mat.
In Affinity the bevel stuff is in "Photo Effects" and I forget where it is in PS. Makes a huge difference if done right.

Thanks for the tip. Makes me think you didn't really look at the 2 photos. If you had, you would realize that I had already done this.

What type of wall surface will the pictures hang on?

I used CCleaner Pro for years. Then I discovered Glary Utilitiies Pro. It is comparably priced and, in my opinion, does a more thorough job and is far more customizable.

I concur, used CCleaner for years and made the switch to Glary about 2 years ago. Very happy with all the tools.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I am going with the triple mat as that is what my gut tells me and the majority of those asked also vote the triple. For those interested, the photo is in Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland Canada. As stated I will be using a peel and stick substrate stuck directly on the wall but does not leave any residue and comes off cleanly and is reusable. The material will emulate a canvas finish but with a tighter weave than most are used to so the detail is evident. I have used this material for many projects and am very happy with it. The size of all photos will be 24x36+/- and the panos will be much wider. I do have 2 panos maxing out at 21x96 (yes, that's 8')

As for the individual who wanted to push their own vision of my work, thanks but NO thanks.

I have a show coming up in April at the Spark Photo Festival in Peterborough Ontario Canada and due to some massive house repairs I can't afford to properly frame my prints. Being a digital specialist I figured to do it all digitally and use a peel and stick substrate. I have 2 choices and ask your opinion on which one strikes you as more presentable. Of course the double mat would save me a pile of black ink considering that the entire show is in B/W but the triple just seems to pop. I have 34 prints to do and many are panoramas so that black ink just may become an issue. But certainly not as much as framing would be. Thanks for your help.

Was out playing yesterday and this scene caught my eye. So what say you? Do I need to go back to the drawing board? Back to the scene of the crime? or simply... let it go?

Who/What do you see?

Knowing where you are located, might be a smart idea to include. Just sayin.

Very nice but imho the top left and bottom right should be reversed to keep the viewing focus centered. Just a thought.
