Am new to photography, reading and learning at the moment, but appreciate experience counts for a lot, so am looking for some advice on some night shots I want to take, have a cannon 30D, with tripod and remote shutter.
I have included a picture of the type scene I am trying to achieve. Living in Blackpool U/K it would be shame not to attempt some evening shots of what we call the illuminations.
Am very much a novice and would appreciate anybody willing to share their knowledge.

There you go Judi, big toys for the boys. Heavy engineering . You can find some good photo opportunities around these old enthusiast steam yards, plus hands on is tolerated, probably because you can't break anything. Lol.
