Some useful options there that I didn't spot first time looking. I was hoping for ENELOOP but not available. I need 6 and a charger but a set of six came up that might be worth a punt.

A little bit of sharpening and clarity, a more panoramic crop, a little play with curves and a few little branches and a sensor spot cloned out. Just tried to get a little 'more' into it without losing the original 'feel'.

I'm trying to get a replacement right now for a radio. £25.00 from the manufacturer.

It's a simple 240v - 9v 1a with a 5mm plug. Next door neighbour has one spare - will it fit, not a chance. It's 5mm, but there's some sort of interference there. So it's £25.00 or a new radio (or a hatful of batteries), good 'C' cell rechargeables are hard to find.

I'm right with you Jerry, one voltage (output) and one fitment.

I would try UPPING the ISO (I don't have an R type camera but results from those in our club suggest thiese cameras can handle much higher ISO's than previous models), this would allow you to keep a high shutter speed and move the F stop to perhaps F8.

I can see some haloing around the and between feathers near the wing tips so a fair bit of sharpening has been done.

Finally, I would consider a monopod with a ball head. I find even with the ball loose (so I can pan around) it offers more stability than my hand held.

Thanks Linda, good to know he's still around even if not posting as much as before. And his latest post is as good as I remember.

I didn't realise you could click on no. of posts and pull up his History. I'll have to have a look at mine and see what crimes against the art I pulled off in my earlier days.

Nice set. Personally I think the gulls add to the shot. They're after the stuff churned up by the ships props. It conveys a bit of action, but thats just my thoughts.

I lost a drive and downloaded the 1 year pass for access to a recovery programme on it. It might have worked in less traumatic cases but here (as my neighbour with access to much better gear than me described it) the front door was welded shut!

Stirred up a few good memories has this post. Are we able to search and find posts by those who've left us?
I'd particularly like to see some of GEOFF100's work again.

As mentioned by another, his subtlety with HDR was a joy to behold.

Interesting term, what is a “spot of bother”, if I may ask? An undefined illness?

A slight problem, or a small predicament. We just use it when we don't want to or need to go into detail.

e.g. 'Jacko's in a spot of bother with the Manager'. So Jacko's done something wrong and going to be taken to task for it but either he's chosen not to mention what or the conveyor of the message has chosen not to.

There used to be GEOFF (GWR100), a fellow U.K. resident. I think he had a spot of bother and moved. I pm'd him and he hoped to be back with us as soon as his move had settled. To my great shame I never followed up when I he failed to reappear. I'll try again.

Remembered for well executed, highly detailed scenes of England and the U.K.

PS; Just sent a new message, fingers crossed he doesn't get added to the list.

When I was in the Arabian Room (image 7) I got the opportunity to lay on my back dead centre and shoot straight up. Makes for an interesting image, especially if you get it on a not too bright day so it minimises the shadows.

Also like the Keep on the mound (image 6). It was cultivated when we went there, but that looks a lot more 'natural'.

Thanks for the memories.
