Thanks everyone....I should have said I have the Tamron 16-300mm and the Tamron 150-600mm lens with the Nikon mount. I do have 4 frames in my house that are 18x24 that I like to enlarge prints and swap the photo's out in...that's one of the main reason's I wanted a higher megapixel camera.

I will look at the D7200 and D750.

How about new vs refurbished vs used? Which would you do?

I have bought refurbished Nikon DSLR's and lenses from adorama and from B & H Photo Video, always at good savings over new and the goods are so
clean and unmarked you would be forgiven for thinking they are new items. All items still working perfectly some 5 to 6 years later. They have a grading system for their used items but have not yet bought used as I just felt that, at the price, refurbished was the better choice.

Hi, I would suggest trying the Sandisk Extreme (NOT Extreme Pro which is a bit of an over kill - and a bit pricey), - or Transcend Ultimate cards - in 16GB or 32GB capacity; price, performance & reliability are really good.
I use both brands in my Nikon DSLR's and Sony camcorder.

Hi, I'd say get BOTH the 35mm and the 50mm if you can afford to. As other hoggers have stated they both have their uses in different given shooting situation. I have the 50mm AF-S f1.8G Nikon lens that I can swap between my D5100 and D7100 DSLRs, but would still like to add the 35mm f1.8 to my bag.

Haven't any hands-on experience with the make of Flashgun you mention. I use Nissin Flashguns. Suggest you look at the Nissin i40 Flash Gun, Canon fit, - that's if you're trying to save cash over buying genuine Canon.
regards,
Danny J
PS: No, the flash will NOT work with any camera; it must be for canon as the flash Hotshoes are different for Canon, Nikon, Sony, etc. The canon fitment Nissin would work on all your Canon DSLR's (assuming u have more than one). They are full TTL, have bounce, swivel & zoom facilities AND can be used off camera.

Yes, would totally agree; Sandisk Extreme or Extreme Pro - If you don't mind spending that bit extra. Sandisk has an excellent reputation as regards reliability. Ans yes, extra batteries; they are affected by the cold. Also as another hogger mentioned: try to keep cards & batteries on your person so that they are warm.
Enjoy your trip!!!

I would bring many cards and batteries. I use 32MB cards and buy the fastest speed.I would suggest: SanDisk 32GB Extreme UHS-I U3 SDHC Memory Card (Class 10)

Congratulations on buying the D7200. (I have the D7100 & like it a lot - but there are some nice little improvements in the D7200) I would agree with orrie smith as regards SD Cards; Sandisk. - Try their Extreme or Extreme Plus versions in 32GB capacity; - nice fast card. (Their Extreme Pro are a bit pricey & a bit of an overkill - (imo).
regards, Danny J.

You don't say what you enjoy or specialize in shooting, (but you mention speed). For a good few years I've ONLY bought Sandisk SD Cards, - usually Sandisk Extreme; (there are at least 3 "flavours" of Sandisk extreme - including their Extreme Pro - which costs more. If you don't need blisteringly fast read/write speeds/don't tend to shoot a lot of HD video on your DSLR then the Sandisk Extreme cards are excellent - and 32GB seems to be optimum value in terms of price & capacity. I've also started buying Transcend Ultimate SDHC cards. Both the above have proved fast, reliable & good value-for-money.
Regards,
Danny.

Hi, |I'd say if you really want to replace your D7000 with another DX (cropped sensor) DSLR then go for the D7200.
I have the D7100 which is really quite good - but there ARE some noticeable improvements built into the D7200.
If cost isn't a problem 7 you're looking for the best low-light performance then you should probably be looking at the D4/D4S. Happy shooting !!!

Sounds like an excellent choice my friend, - especially at that price - and the fact that you already have a collection of older Nikon lenses. I bought my refurbished D7100 with 18 -140mm lens about 17 months ago and am really happy with it. Again I tend to go with adorama and B & H photo Video - for both new and refurbished items.

Hi Brayyd, I'm green - (with envy) here - in the nicest sense of the term, as regards your new D7200. I have a D7100 but definitely cannot afford to upgrade any time soon.
Excellent shots; - What lens did you have attached?
With regard to hi speed Folash Sync: If you're using a shoe-mounted Flash then the flashgun also needs to support/be capable of hi speed flash sync. I haven't tried it out with my D7100 yet as I don't yet have a capable Flash. . . thinking of purchasing the Nissin i40 Flash Unit - soon.
Happy shooting!

Sigma make two versions of the 10 - 2-mm Lens; - one with a constant aperture - (which costs a bit more than the one with decreasing aperture). You cant go wrong with either one of these Sigma's

Hi, have a look on adorama.com and B & h photo Video: they sell new, used & refurbished stuff, refurbished DSLRs & lenses mainly being Canon & Nikon. The refurb D7000 body is selling for a VERY reasonable price with the above two vendors. (Haven't checked the used prices on the D7000 though) I have the D7100, like the improved performance & specs of the D7200 - but cant afford to upgrade at this time. I must admit though, I'm very happy with the performance of my D7100.
. . . . maybe wait another 6 months or so 7 the price will have dropped on the D7200 - OR buy a refurbished D7200 from adorama or B&H.

Great weather reporting!!! - Can't say if it could add to global warming - but I reckon it could cause a few (red-blooded) male's temperatures & heart rates to rise a bit, lol!!
