Why do you say that using the Canon SX70 would not be easier for everyone?
I’m asking because I have the SX 60 and I’m thinking of getting the SX 70.
I had cataracts and astigmatism and I had surgery on both eyes several weeks apart this summer. The AcrySof.IQ Toric lens was implanted and I am very happy with the result. I can read newspaper small print and also have excellent distance vision. Medicare does not fully cover the cost of these lenses but the results were worth it. I don’t need to wear glasses at all.
Brilliant presentation--loved your photos and the variety of transitional effects!
Love your captures!
I have an SX60 too and I'm wondering what settings you use for birds in flight.
Do you set your shortcut button to BIF?
Thanks.
I was in Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe last June and took photos with my Canon SX60. I love my photos and made a book that was purchased by others on our trip but your photos inspire me to try to become a better photographer. (I especially love your picture of the lilac-breasted roller!)
I am also very concerned about the end of Picasa. I appreciate its ease of use in editing and post-processing prior to creating a book with Shutterfly. (Shutterfly has limited editing options.) I have thousands of photos stored in Picasa and I hope that I can continue to access and edit them. I've read many posts by the professional photographers who use this site and I know there are other editing options. But, as an amateur who loves photography, Picasa was perfect for me. I am disappointed in Google for not continuing its support.

I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Thanks so much!
I have a Canon SX 60 that I took with me on safari in Zimbabwe last month and I loved using it to take photos of birds and animals from a distance. But, I've read so many positive comments about the Canon sx50 that I'm thinking of buying one now that it's on sale for $150 refurbished from Canon. Is it really so much better than the SX 60? I used Picasa to edit my favorite 900 plus photos and I'm in the process of making a photo book with Shutterfly. I really enjoy photography but I'm not a camera "techie."
I've made many travel books using Picasa and when I have an issue or something isn't working, I call their excellent tech support. Here is their number: 1-888-225-7159. (The first few days that I'm starting a project I may need to call them often and they are great!) Good luck with your project.
Just beautiful...makes me want to go birding in India!
These shots are magnificent and may inspire me to get a "real" camera! I'm a birder and I use a Canon powershot sx260. Can you tell me what model Nikon you have?
I'm a birder and these photos are inspirational! I'm going to try using high iso when photographing birds too. Thanks!
These are fabulous photos!
