I just purchased the 1.4 extender to use with the Canon 70D and the 70-200 F4 L lens and it works great. No problem with autofocus. Bought it on sale two weeks ago for $432. Enjoy it.
I have an older Epson 2200 and a Canon Pixma 9000. I am getting better prints that more like the original from the Canon than the Epson using Lightroom 5 on on iMac. Just seems like the Epson needs much more manipulation to get prints close to orignal than the Canon.
Need assistance with printing from Lightroom 5 using Epson 2200. I have read many of the posts and still have not seen a resolution to my issue. The image is a Canon raw CR2 image with some post processing, monitor is a new iMac 27" calibrated with Spyder 4. Correct profiles are loaded for the Epson paper. Print looks great on the screen, but when i i click the box in soft proofing to "simulate paper and ink", the image appears to loose contrast and the best description I can give is that a slight haze comes over the entire image. I do not know what settings I can do to the proof preview to fix it. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
As the original poster, want to thank all those that replied, especially amfoto1 for such a complete explanation. Finally got an answer to a question I have had ever since i have been using my 60D
I have a Canon 60D, understand AI Servo for moving subjects and also use back button focusing. I always use single point autofocus. I have searched the archives and can't find if it is ok to use only a single point autofocus with AI Servo and when using AI Servo, do i continue to hold down the back button for autofocus. Have seen related subjects but nothing that addresses both the autofocus point, back button autofocus and AI Servo. Just one of those nagging questions that I can't find the answer to. Any comments or help is appreciated.
Thank you so much. Clears up the mystery. Thought we had seen a never before seen species.
Working outside today, just coming in and saw this on a neighbors bush. No time to get the right lens or fix settings, just pointed and shot. Severally cropped, no other post processing. Anyone know what the is is, never saw anything like it before.
Thank you all so much for the great information. I wish we were going at fall color time, but this is the schedule for the entire family. Hope to get to many of the locations recommended.
We will be vacationing in New Hampshire for about 10 days late July and early August in Intervale, north of North Conway. Any ideas of place to go for good photography? We will of course be going up Mt. Washington
Thanks
Last month went on a cruise on the Allure of the Seas that stopped in St Martin. Took a trip to Marigot Beach right where the airplanes land. Took these two photos. On the one with the sail boat, I did not notice the man floating. Should I leave him there? Does it add interest to the photo?

Thanks all for your responses. Do you all think IS is so important in these lenses that I should go for the 4.0 lens with IS instead of the 2.8 without IS? Can't afford the 2.8 with IS.
travinman46 - did you mean to attach a link for a web site. Don't see it. Can you repost?
I have been watching the forum for a few weeks now just learning new things. I may have the opportunity to get a new telephoto zoom lens for use on my 60D. Looking for some input between the following (All Canon) EF 70-200 f2.8L USM, EF 70-200 f4L IS USM and EF70-300 F4-5.6L IS USM. The 70-200 f2.8L IS II USM is a bit out of my reach. Any opinions would be appreciated.
I have moved from LR 2 to 3 and now to 4. I have taken some classes sponsored by our local photo stores. Check out Adobe TV and search for Lightroom. 4. There are severalw great videos that you can watch over again. Start with the video in importing and organizing. It helped me greatly and the ability to go back and review them is very helpful
I have had athe 60D for about a year and am very happy with it. I stayed with Canon because of my collection of lenses. I agee with the previous comments about spending more money on good lenses and sticking with the same brand cameras. Eventually I will move up to a full frame and will already have the lenses to go with it.
