Practicing. I have a flower and used remove background which worked very well (just practicing remember). I need to Transform tool to reduce the size and copy it into the background onto the photo I chose. This is a free background from Pexels. I cannot get either the transform tool or the copy tool to work. What am I doing wrong? I think the handles for the transform are hidden in the photo. How do I get to them?

Like the others state it looks like an oak except it what we can see of the branch it doesn't look like an oak branch. I don't think dogwood nor chestnut oak. A little more of the limb would prove or disprove dogwood as the leaves are paired in that tree. No mater what I do like the picture.

What about Willow Oak?? This from leaf-ID.com.

Doc, what would you say about a Willow Oak? I got this from leaf-ID.com and it looks real close.

That sure is an excellent photo. Do you mind sharing the technique you used to achieve that look. I've tried getting it but I have not had any luck.

It was shot with a Canon 6D mark ll and a Canon 24-70L lens at 41mm, f11, ISO200, !/200sec. I played a little with both the color mixer and color grading. Used Adobe landscape, daylight white balance, and then I think I warmed it to about 7000. Not sure about that. All that in ACR now PS...ran it thru Topaz Denoise AI and Topaz Sharpen AI. The sky was replaced using an Adobe Sky Replacement which I think helped the photo immensely. Then a I think a tweak with curves. This was one of those photos where nature played 90% and I played 10%. I hope this helps you.

Will, you have really outdone yourself this time. The picture has great depth and shows well in DDL. This could have come directly out of a Thomas Cole folio. Congratulations

Thank you!

I enjoy the Beethoven sonatas (piano) and his Emperor Concerto. Bit I like all of Beethoven.

I assume downloading means opening the photo in ACR after copying it from the camera or camera card? If the photo is going into ACR then I assume it's a raw file? So then in ACR your friend removes the standard input sharpening that ACR applies by default and instead does __________________? Sharpens or not the photo? In Photoshop? How?

If I remember correctly either hi-pass or smart sharpen.. I use hi-pass and I think he said he used both of those depending on the image (not at the same time, one or the other).

I haven't had a chance to try this yet but I'm looking for comments. In a discussion with a friend today he said he gets excellent sharpening results by removing the sharpening that is applied in ACR after downloading a photo. In other words after downloading he turns the sharpening to zero and continues on from there. As I have said I haven't tried it yet, but does this make any sense to you? Thanks.
