REQUEST FOR EXIF....

So many have asked, that I have finally looked it up and here it is, the picture is the juvenile redtailed hawk fully flared, with Big Bear summit in background.
Date taken: 1-2-2009
camera: Pentax *istDS, 6 megapixel
F/8
1/3000 sec
800 ISO
35mm Focal Length: 199

Details: handheld, taken from moving car which I was driving...on a deserted road, folks, about 5mph to avoid spooking the hawk as he sat on a roadside fencepost. No flash.
Thanks to Barbara Copp.

Fascinating. What were your camera settings? Could software ( I use LR5) have cleaned up the noise?

I don't know...ISO set very high, it was very dark...shutter priority selected, handheld.

First Encounter at Gunny's place, McMinnville, Oregon...we stumbled upon Gunny's Drive and stayed. This pair of eagles were the first visitors to his property (Gunny Brandon, USMC Ret) that he had seen in 40 years. I grabbed my camera and shot; enhanced with Smart Photo Editor. Hope you enjoy it.

Last night at 10:30pm, I heard an owl. Getting dressed and grabbing my camera on this dark night, I set the ISO to 12800 and selected shutter priority and ventured to the wood. The hoots guided me; I soon got this shot. I know, I know...but hey, look at his eyes. If anyone can improve my night skills, let me know. But hey, the night WAS DARK!

I was told one time that my lens was only good for a boat anchor...I believe I have better pictures than that $8000 lens he had and bragged about. I don't pay any attention to the high dollar guys anyway. I am a hobbyist, not a semi pro like he thinks he is.
