Thank you for the awesome feedback.
What I posted and what many have said, there is a photo op on every corner and street.
These I consider the best of my shots but there are many more.
Central park is awesome, saw strawberry fields and walked around the Dakota, no photos.
Saw the 911 memorial, took some photos but the feeling was too intensely sad and I feel like deleting them.
All in all the trip was fantastic and every day we see sights that we saw on TV, "hey sweetie we were there".
This was something as a younger person that I could not imagine doing, NYC was the last place I would ever want to go to.
Turned out to be one of the most fun things I have ever done.
Glad it brought back memories for some and hopefully inspired others.
I will dig out some of the other shots, not the best landmark shots but just NYC in general, thanks.

I drive this every day and your captures are great.
I'm amazed by how many people fear the bridge, it can get windy and if you fear heights, it is not for you.
In the beginning I was apprehensive.
They have been installing LED lights below the bridge, can't wait to see how that looks.

All my life and I am 60 now, I could never imagine NYC as a vacation destination until I had to go for a business meeting.

All I can is WOW, my perception was way off.
I decided to take my better half to see the big apple and see what it was all about and got some great shots.

We took the ferry to see the Lady, This is something I have always dreamed of.
For these shots we walked about 15 miles per day and really got to experience the city.

Hershel from B&H photo was kind enough to give us a tour of the store and behind the scenes, B&H is not at all a small operation, they are huge, the store is just the tip of the iceberg, they have my business.

Enjoy.

Outstanding shot. Getting the right crop on that would win in a competition.

I can verify that VR does make a diferece with my stock Nikon 18-55.
I was doing some HDR (3 exposures) on a tripod and left VR on, my first exposure was framed fine and the next two frames had the tops clipped.
This happened with every shot that day.

This was very noticeable when trying to align the images.

A plumb bob is used to make something perfectly straight up vertical, ask any carpenter or mason.
Aplomb, without looking it up must mean straight up.
Ok throbbing prick, I would be on the level and laughing like crazy even though it may have been straight up.

DO NOT go with water cooled, it fails and gets noisy and leaks.
They say it is pure water and can't harm things, BUT atmosphere and residual chemicals on the PCB make it not pure water.
I had a Kuler and it leaked and was noisy, messed me up with failed ram.
Get a big fan and heat sink combo and you will be quieter and cooler.
I have the I7, 16 gigs is really good, Instant satisfaction, get more if you want.
I am ready to rebuild because of the leak.
This is my system and I got it free.

That was the first forum I joined and that computer rocks.
I just wished you could build a laptop like that.

I was at a garage sale and he was selling his vinyl albums, a young lady, probably in her late 20's asked what are those.
He said records and she had heard of them but had never seen one.
She would never comprehend 8 track tapes.
I thought color TV was great when it came out
