Beware! There is such a thing as a “face cord”. 2’ x 4’ x 8’. A half cord.

In Arkansas and area we call this a rick (half cord).

McAfee firewall is totally not compatible with Big Sur. McAfee offers and apology and says they are working on a fix. They recommend using the MAC firewall. They have not offerred a refund on my subscription. The update on my iMac was easy with the above mentioned issue excepted.
My 2013 Mac Book Pro is not compatible with Big Sur. I hope Apple keeps providing updates for Catalina.

I have a late 2013 Mac Book Pro and Big Sur installed without any problem.

Thanks, I guess it is only fair that we send American jobs to Mexico that we send the Boll Weevil down there too.

That’s where the boll weevil came from originally. Tex Ritter recorded the Boll Weevil song in 1966.
It came from Mexico to Texas just looking for a home.

Thanks, Kpmac. I imagine that you fellows may have some Boll Weevils down in your area with the cotton fields.

The Boll Weevil has be eradicated from most of the U.S. cotton growing areas. It being pushed out of southern Texas into Mexico.

They're beautiful when they change color. I heard that a grove of aspens is actually one giant organism, rather than individual trees.

They are called clones. Often when a grove is observed the center will be taller. The outer trees become shorter as they progress from the center indicating they are younger trees from the original parent. DNA testing confirms this phenomenon.

Thanks, Tinusbum. My best guess is that it is some type of Assassin Bug for the proboscis looks like it was made for stabbing and it is not the same type as I see on my Stink Bugs.

If the proboscis is wider than the antenna they tend to be predators. Thinner mouthparts are easier to use to penetrate plant tissue.

Some people (acquaintances) said I could sell some of my pics and I've gotten published in on-line aviation newsletters and/or websites (total rewards = 2 baseball caps). The TC I was talking about was the Smart Teleconverter button on the back of the camera (digital in-camera enlargement). I've never used an optical behind-the-lens unit. I've dabbled in macro or landscape, but 95-98% of my annual images are from aviation-related activities. If you like, check out my Oshkosh albums on my FB page.

Check your manual and see it the Smart Teleconverter is Clear Image Zoom. Have you tried it? My CIZ is easy to use and works a little better than cropping.

I just found this bug in the house. It has an enormous jump, in the end he jumped from a couple of feet on my left, past me and out of sight.

I only got a couple of hurried poor shots as he jumped whenever I got close. Big Crops.

I remember my mother giving my oldest brother the 20 Mule Team kit. Took him forever to assemble it. I could never figure out its significance. Why did it take 20 mules to pull a cart? How was this relevant in the '50s? What did it have to do with washing clothes?

Multiple very large wagons required a lot of mule power.

For those of you who do not know: " Aphasia is a condition that robs you of the ability to communicate. It can affect your ability to speak, write, and understand language, both verbal and written. Aphasia typically occurs suddenly after a stroke or a head injury or certain poisons. " No one in their right mind can pronounce those words.

Too many to list - the automobile and the RV industry is full of them... It seems that the design work is done by desk sitting engineers that do not have a clue what the real world environment is - they just put stuff together that appeals to the younger generation and fits within the budgets mandated by the bean counters...

If the establishment really wanted to help America they would mandate that mechanical and electronic design engineers must work in the field for a year repairing these marvels. I guarantee they would be better designs that are easier on which to work. This would result in less cost for repairs to the consumer. They have gotten better in some areas but it is very frustrating to try to repair most of these machines.

BebuLamar is correct about camera shake being magnified, the longer the zoom, hence the need for a stable platform or tripod. Sony’s Clear Image Zoom, or CIZ attempts to effectively double the zoom range, digtally, without perceptible loss of image quality. It does a fair job, but if you crop and image to 100% or more, you can see ever so slight loss of IQ. Digital zoom, however, immediately results in loss of IQ, and the farther you zoom, the worse it gets. To add to the problem, at very long zoom ranges, atmospheric anomalies like heat waves, dust particles in the air, etc. This is all magnified at long zoom ranges.

I don’t know if this answers your question, at all, but in short, there will be more apparent camera shake as you zoom, and the more you zoom, the more apparent it is, since everything is, in essence, magnified. An image taken at max zoom, in your case, 600mm, will be degraded if you crop it to twice its size, as if it were taken at 1200mm eq.

I have taken the same photos with a Sony RX10-III at 600mm and at 1200mm (Clear Image Zoom). I then cropped the 600mm image to the same size of the 1200mm photo. I have not found that the Clean Image Zoom is any better than just cropping the 600mm. These photos were taken closer distances than you normally would and as someone said the atmospheric conditions would further degrade the clear image zoom photo. I agree that Sony has done a better job with the clear image zoom feature over just digital zoom. As has been pointed out, the longer the zoom the more the camera is subject to shake and needs to be stabilized better. Increasing the shutter speed to reduce shake may not be possible unless you have very good light.

I have used a variety of macro lenses and cobbled together rigs seeking a reasonable alternative to expensive, new macro lenses. The 1st lens I bought for my a6000 several years ago was the Sigma 60mm f/2.8 for E mount ($239.) I noticed that it was impressively sharp and eventually tried it with extension tube, Canon 500D close-up attachment and was not particularly impressed so moved on to hunt for a better solution.

Now I thought my technique has improved so perhaps a retest would be appropriate. I Tested the 60mm Sigma and the Canon EF-s 60mm f/2.8 macro on the same target. The Sigma appeared to be noticeably sharper as well as brighter (Will post about that later.) So I took the Sigma with a vintage Canon 240 C-8 in place of the 500D. Here’s the result with a very cooperative subject.

I read that a Tokina FiRIN 100mm f/2.8 FE Macro Lens for Sony E is now available.

I’m not understanding...why would you download someone else’s work? I thought galleries were for viewing. Could you explain?. Thanks

Downloaded pics simply open on our devices much larger to show better detail especially when blow up. It doesn’t mean that that are downloaded to the hard drive and saved on the device. When the browser is closed it goes away back into cyberspace or wherever.
