I saw a strange vehicle on the road yesterday, and I quickly realized that it was a Tesla Cybertruck. I don't know how "Cyber" applies, but it certainly is weird looking. You can buy one to haul your next load of building materials home from Lowes for $165+.

Finally, the day will be long enough to get something done!

A massive, massive, massive, massive catch cable/catch net system....a la aircraft carrier jet catcher idea.....if it's massive enough, and occupies enough harbor area to prevent a ship reaching the bridge......and the ship fails far enough away from the bridge for the catch system to catch it......

KIDDING, man!! Kidding!!

I was trying to picture that system. Then I saw your last line. 😂

There's the "fun" factor vs getting excellent results. They cleaned the slides and corrected the color.

Forget the bridge abutments, why didn't the captain let go the anchor when he first realized the power was out all over the ship. THAT, would have stopped the ship in its tracks!!!

The ship dragged the anchor.

I disassembled a Seagate drive from 2011, and I saved all those little screws and the two powerful magnets. They sure are strong. I also saved the two platters because I'm thinking about decorating a ukulele as a Computer Uke. I'm hesitating because I'm afraid that it will keep failing to play properly. 😳

Good luck with your call...

I may have stated the solution in another post(?)

I called Spectrum and got the Technical Support line. I can access TV by using Roku. My Firestick and Chromecast won't work, though. I'll have to connect the Roku and see how that works. Search > Spectrum TV.

When I canceled the $159 package, it would have been nice if they had told me that I would have to get TV through Roku. That was eleven months ago.

True story ... recently a man in Texas had his name changed legally to "Literally Anybody Else" since he is running for president of the USA. So on the ballot you can vote for Biden, Trump, RFK Jr., or Anybody Else.

I'm surprised that was allowed, but now, he's stuck with it. Do his friends call him "Literally" or just "Liter"? "Here comes Liter!" 🤣

For me, it's "as is" or nothing. I'm not going back to $200+.

I just tried again, after attempting a couple of months ago. Figured it out:

Do via your computer: log into your account on the Spectrum website, and find the place where Roku is mentioned under supported devices for the Spectrum tv app.

I did that, then Roku was able to add the app on my tv.

The bad news is when you pay for internet service only, the Spectrum TV Stream (where I live) costs $39.99/month after a free trial.

I don't know what channels are included, but I don't have any interest. From April through October, MLB TV is all I watch (and I have an antenna that gets local channels quite well)

Yeah, they don't make anything easy. It's Roku or nothing.

Update: I spent some time on the phone with Spectrum. If I go back to using Roku - and only Roku - I can Search for SpectrumTV and watch broadcast that way. I'll have to connect the Roku and try again.

Jerry, how long has your Spectrum bill been showing both cable tv and internet? Did you have cable tv at one point and then cancel it? Or thought you canceled it? Or planned to cancel it, but forgot to do so???

The bundles generally save $5 - $15. Spectrum tv, with a couple of extras, like sports, was costing me over $200/month a few years ago. Canceling that, my internet and landline bundle went up just $5.00.

Canceling the landline a couple of years ago cost me $5, but saved $20.

I cancelled TV last May, and my bill went from $212 to $105. Now it's gone up to $220. I have my landline through Ooma. I pay nothing to Ooma, just $6.73/month in state tax.
