thank you and you are so right. one step forward 2 steps back is how i feel about it.
are you able to tell me why when i make the mask, invert and use curves to change the lighting, the changes are being made to both the masked area and the non masked area??
thank you!
i figured it out... in my quick mask settings the opacity somehow got set on 0.
thank you anyway.
help please!
when i make a selection on a photo and press "q" or click on the quick mask icon in my tools panel, all that happens is my "layer"
in my layers panel turns red. i do not get the mask on my selection or anywhere on the actual picture! ( i know about invert)
what am i doing wrong?
thank you so much
although the bottom right looks "black"it isnt really in the original...
picture is from the 1950's
thank you

hi.
i made a selection of a lighter area (the left side )and want to move it to cover a darker area(right side)...it seems to be picking up the lighting at the darker area. i will attach a picture...
i know theres more work to be done re all the other stuff with the move but wondering about the lighting issue
ps. i was using a picture i own that was scanned and downloaded into photoshop.
i was using cc photshop.
with a wacom pad..pencil.
so i guess there's no deleting it before saving my picture?
i was working on a picture and this symbol popped up. not sure how and dont know how to get rid of it.please see attachment. thank you
sorry its the patch tool! not the clone tool
hi. trying to clone a pattern from a dark wallpaper in a picture to an area in the same picture that is blown out.
when i clone into the bright area the dark wall paper doesnt stay dark it ends up looking very light.
any suggestions to correct, appreciated
