I have 2 buttons set up for back button focus. One is for center point focus to home in on the subject quickly. The other is set to eye detect so once homed on the subject can quickly switch to eye detect, if that helps.
I will try that, can you tell me what back buttons work in that scenario?
That would be a perfect solution, but my nose keeps moving the focal point.
I purchased the new camera for one main reasons for its quick auto focus and eye focus. I have used it a couple of times for shooting senior photos and homecoming. I’ve watched a couple of videos on the Best settings for the quick focus and it seems like half the time it’ll focus on the eye and half the time it just jumps to wherever it wants to go. Has anybody here had experience with the camera and uses it for that purpose and can tell me what would be the best settings. Thank you in advance.

unfortunately it doesn’t work that way or I wouldn’t be asking the question :-)
Thank you, I don’t think it is compatible yet. I will have to go through EOS Utility first.
I have the R6 Mark ii and trying to teather to my computer as I have a large shoot to do and it will not link. Im running Ventura 13.6 and have the latest update to Lightroom. Im using a new Teather Pro cable and have Eos utility 3 installed but would like to go directly through Lightroom, and suggestions?
Returning my new Canon R8 for one major reason, overheating. I took my new camera out and did some outside photography, Mounts Botanical Gardens and then the next day to Wellington Preserve. The first day after one hour the camera had 4-5 red bars and a warning of overheating, I took it into the shade and waited @ 5-10 minutes and finished off my visit. The next day I was out and @ 1 hour twenty minutes the camera warned me it has overheated and is shutting down. I don’t really shoot outside often, but if I do have a photo shoot outside I don’t want to have to worry about the camera just shutting down on me. I’m not quite sure if the canon.R6 Mark ll has the same problem, but now I’m really skeptical about this line of mirrorless cameras.
Thank you for the information, also saves me an extra thousand dollars. The only thing that worries me is about that card slot. I’ve been shooting for years and never had a failed card but you never know.
I have recently purchased my first mirrorless camera, the Canon r8 and I love the quality of the camera. I am now thinking about returning that and stepping up to either the Canon r6 or r6 mark ll. I already have the lenses and use an adapter and the quality is great. I mostly shoot inside: Head Shots, portraits, family photos, and thinking of maybe getting into senior photography. I see some good deals on the R6 as it is in an older model but with what I’m using it for do I really need to spend the extra $500 on the newer model? This is the first photo I shot with the new camera.
Thank you for all your comments, I decided to purchase the Canon R8 and the canon adapter so I can use my lenses with the R8. I have to tell you the photos come out beautiful.
Thank you for the information do you happen to have the model of the adapter by any chance?
I own a canon 5D MarkIII but I want to upgrade to an R6 or an R5 are the lenses interchangeable amongst all of the models or do I need some sort of an adapter to use my previous lenses with an R5 or R6?
