Thanks David for reminding me about "search" duhÂ… I can see why you thought 42nd.. The one comment about 47th was enough to help with my decision.

Thanks all for comments,

Hi All,
Does anyone have experience purchasing from 47th street? I can realize some small savings by purchasing from them. They were linked from Amazon, but still I'm used to and satisfied with Adorama. Just curious as I could realize a small $$ savings and get a couple filters with the lens I'm looking at.

Thanks much for any feedback you guys might have.

I am retired and just started taking serious pictures. Got tired of the same old pics and want to learn how to take "really good" pictures. Took several pictures that I thought were a good start on vacation in Michigan. There is so much to learn! Feel free to coment on the attached shots. :-D

I like the beach grass, slight tilt to the right however, the lake will empty that way. :) Also like the house. Very nice although I would lose the date stamps, but that's just me.

hi all have been just watching and learning any comments critique welcome

#1 is a nice pic. Adjust a few degrees clockwise and it would be really nice. #2 seems closer to level, but like the color in #1 better. Of course all in my opinion and only because you asked.

Lastly, welcome to a great forum..

Really nice shot. I agree, that w/o the wire it would be sweet. She didn't even twitch a whisker.

These were taken early this morning at Juno Beach.
I kind of think the one with pretty heavy magenta may be a bit too much. What do you think.
These were taken at -2,0,and +2 on a tripod, 2 second shutter delay, 10-22mm lens.

Overall I like #2, but I do really like the highlight behind the pier in #1. I'd be driving myself nuts trying to merge the two. Really nice shot regardless.

Oh, and no frames allowed.

Well I understand the "no frame" but have never matted a photo without a backboard.

I really like the eagle.

Most HDR shooters set the camera in aperature priority. Set up exposure bracketing over whatever range you like, usually -2, then 0 then +2, self time on 2 seconds or cable release and continuous shooting mode and then the camera fires a series of 3 shots. If you are shooting in a low light situation doesn't this continuous action create camera shake? Doesn't the mirror flopping up and down add shake? Also you can't use mirror lock up with this technique.

On the other hand, you could set the camera to manual, use mirror lock up and change the exposure by manually changing the time value for each shot and using single shot not continuous. You could still use the 2 second delay. Of course movement of the camera could be introduced when you change the time value.

What do you think? And, what has been your experience?

Good question. I bet you would get some responses if you posted to the HDR forum. Judging from the shots I've seen, there's a lot of experience there.

I agree it looks good except just a bit too light. Beautiful dogs by the way.
