That is absolutely marvelous, Ed! Thank you! And Merry Christmas to you, too. Hope you get to spend at least a little of it with your camera!
Old falling-apart barns are nice to behold - unless they're yours! Mine was a mess. It all started with a really small hole in the roof some years ago. I couldn't find anyone to fix it and I couldn't do it myself. I've now had it fixed and, for those of you who would like to undertake this task, it cost me about 2 years pay!
He's very cute and the image is really nice. Very sharp, good lighting. How long did you observe him before shooting?
That little guy is really cute. Nice.
I really like this image, so I decided to play with it a bit. In PS, I used the clone tool on "replace" and actually cloned all of the cement approach. I took a couple of runs at it, but what finally showed looked like a small spit sticking into the water with the reflection continued into the appropriate space. The remaining spit looked sort of natural (but I didn't enlarge it) and retained the balance necessary to the image. You might try playing with that a bit.
The colours are gorgeous and very well done. It does need leveling (I notice this because it's a frequent fault of my own!). I would not have seen the pelican if you hadn't pointed it out, but it is a nice element. I think it's lovely and the fact that the two of them are all alone at this beautiful moment is nice.
That's a lovely building. The old buildings have so much more character than the newer ones do.
While I like the "in" and "out" of focus work in the second and third, I like the colours in the background of #1 better.
Nicely done, Brent. I particularly like the backlit ones in the first image.
Lovely scenes, Mike. Did you scan these yourself?
You have captured this very well - from the pristine white of the snow to the beautiful texture of the tree bark. My only niggle is whatever seems to be blocking the path at the end of the tree line. But it's so distant that it's barely there.
Mike, that's gorgeous. How long did you just stand there staring at that scene?
