I took a bunch of pictures of a sunset and want to make them into a movie. It was suggested to me that I do his project as a learning excel isle to watch how the light changes from minute to minute. I understand that Lightroom does this but, I have never even opened it.

Does any one out there know how to create a movie from stills?

Thx, olc

I've made a couple of really cool movies using Photoshop Premier Elements. It's pretty basic, but it should more than do the trick for what you describe.

you could do a reset and see what happens it may fix it

What’s interesting and makes me wonder is could the problem be with the lens? Nobody ever asked me that at Adorama before we agreed on the swap for a new camera. The intermittent failure of the shooting menu reset function in the D7200 still leads me to believe the problem was in the camera. Guess I’ll find out on Monday when both the new camera and my second used lens, the Nikon 18-140 arrive. Hmmm. It will be a mystery til then.

After everyone weighs in and the camera still does not work CALL ADORAMA. Give them the whole story and tell them you are not happy with the purchase. They should take care of you.

Yes, thank you. I shipped the used camera back to them and paid the $300 difference for a new one. It’s arriving a Monday. Great minds...LOL.

Thanks. I decided to go with the Nikon 18-140. Sadly, it’s going to arrive before the replacement for the D7200. No worries, I’ll be shooting with my Canon SX60HS the weekend ;-)

What catches my attention about the water on the west coast versus the east coast is that the water seems to look bluer on the west coast, greener on the east. I don't know if any processing has been done on this, especially any that affect color, but it is a nice blue and a nice shot.
NO PROCESSING. THAT’S OUR VERY BLUE OCEAN.
I wonder, if you ever do it again, if you might consider zooming out a bit, and getting a little longer view of the wave. Not that this view isn't nice, it's very nice.

THANKS SO MUCH, THAT’S ENCOURAGING. THE ORIGINAL IMAGE SHOWED MUCH MORE OF THE WAVE, BUT I CROPPED IT JUST TO CATCH THE DRAMATIC ACTION AT THAT SECTION OF THE BREAK.

Cheers,

You can always reset Nikons to factory default from the menus.

Thanks for the input. Been there, done that. The camera is defective. Adorama is swapping it out.

Sadly, your right. The AF is caput again, so I’m going to return it. I’m looking again at the D7500, but I think a new... not a refurbished camera is the best bet. Whatever’s wrong, it’s intermittent, which makes the problem that much worse.

FORGIVE THE RING: Problem solved. I wish I could tell you how I did it. I tried everything except putting the camera in the washing machine and somehow I solved the problem. Whew!

UPDATE: It looks like there is a problem with either the camera or the lens. The AF Mode button is not working. I push it and nothing happens. I've checked that the camera and lens are set on AF, the Lock is off, I've reset the Shooting mode and done a two-button reset. I've also reseated the lens. I'm out of ideas/options. This is a used camera I bought from Adorama, so I think I've got a 90-day warranty. Before I call them, can anyone think of something I've missed?

Well, I seem to have done something and I can't figure out how to solve the problem. The D7200 has a red focus box just off center and autofocus has stopped working. I also can't Reset the photo shooting menu. I get a message that "This option is not available at current settings or in the camera's current state." HELP please!

I bought a used D7200 with a Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 55-300 1:4.5-5.6 G ED lens. It seems to be a great lens, but I now need something versatile like an 18-55 lens to round out functionality. Shopping for lenses must give even experts at least a headache, cuz I'm in total overwhelm. First off, I don't understand the difference between the lenses f stop range, eg the 4.5-5.6 of my existing lens and what you can do with the camera. That lens gives me an f-stop range of 4.5 to 22. So how does one know when buying a lens what the lens' state rating translates to in the camera? It seems obvious to me I'd want a lens with maximum flexibility since I only have a budget for one more lens right now.

Anyway, any other recommendations or insights would be helpful. Lens stabilization is also important to me, but otherwise I really want a good lens...max budget about $1000.

Thanks everyone for your input.

I find the longer the zoom, the tougher they are to handle. I rarely go beyond 100mm.

Thanks for the response. Do you mean the camera or in post production? I don't have a steady hand as it is, so for long zooms I have to use a tripod.

Thanks for your input. This is exactly why I joined this group ;-) The wave image was my from my first outing with my new Canon SX60HS. One of the reasons I purchased the camera was because of the super zoom feature. I wanted to test that 65x optical zoom. I'm sure this is just a beginner's reaction, but I must say the results left me breathless. I'm impressed. And, oh yeah, being a Sagittarius I love the ocean!
