If Tony, or his wife, told me what time it was, I hope I would have an accurate watch to check for myself. Most of his stuff is a load of crap.

Actually, most of what they say about photography is accurate. It's when Tony interjects his personal opinion about certain things, he tends to be a bit narrow minded, a condition his wife doesn't appear to suffer from nearly as bad as he does.
I remember on one show Tony was talking trash about the Sony Mavica CD series cameras. One of the first consumer digital cameras that could store over 150 images on a single mini CD. For its day it was quite an amazing camera. Just make sure you brought along a spare battery. I bought one in 2000, the year they were introduced. I took thousands of photos with that camera and I still have it and it still works.

Par for the course if you've seen other posts - always like that, or confrontational. Misses your intent, entirely. I appreciate your humor!

Since it was first marketed as medicine, the bad taste was probably a selling point.

Wasn't Coca Cola originally known for its so called medicinal properties also? Amazing what the snake oil salesmen of that time used to push on the consumers.

What I really meant is the a lot of people got scammed by Abe's but if you actually go to the store you won't get scammed.

First you say there is no store, then you say there is. What is it?! I know for a fact there is indeed an actual Abe's of Maine retail store because I've seen it. It's in Linden New Jersey. For those who don't know where that is, it's right down the road from Elizabeth NJ and right next to Staten Island, real close to the City of New York.

The reason I mentioned them is they have a reputation for embellishing the truth in their advertising...

But really if you actually visit the store you may see no store there.

I never said I was actually going to Abe's of Maine. If you know I was joking then why do you contradict me?!

I'm personally a big fan of bridges, especially when I'm headed to where they are going.

Yah I don't think Abe's of Maine is the kind of business that would deal with you in person.

Yah?
I'm sorry, are you being serious? You do realize I was joking about the Abe's thing...

Nicely thought out and well said. You put things in better perspective than just the usual "marketing is evil" mantra.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I try to be at least a wee bit open minded, sometimes.

I also view his postings, there's often interesting stuff. I have noticed that a lot of what he posts about I've already seen on TV or read about elsewhere.

No because new people who haven't seen it before keep coming along. Strange how new humans keep getting made, isn't it?

Over thirty years teaching 7th through 12th grade at different schools so I can remember getting the same questions over and over.
A few of those students I had more than once for a different class.

The same questions, year after year, multiple periods a day.
You get used to it.

I was not a professional teacher, but I did spend many years teaching new employees how to operate various types of high speed printers and how to program the way the company and its clients wanted it done. We had a simple saying that I'm sure lots of other places have. The only dumb question is the one not asked!
You're right about the questions, you get used to it.

You should go to Abe of Maine to pickup you purchase and not have them ship to you. I think when you get there you they probably do not sell to you in person.

Companies don't lie, they use "marketing" to promote themselves and their products.

They don't really lie. They embellish and exaggerate to some extent and make certain things sound far more important or impressive than they truly are and place emphasis on certain things like high megapixels. They don't really lie as in stating falsehoods or claiming their products will do something that it is indeed incapable of doing, because these things will get them sued, at least here in the litigation happy USA. Sure, there are bad people out there who operate or work for bad companies, but their reputations become well known and eventually the sucker pool runs dry. Well, I'll shut up now, I've got to go pick up my latest purchase from Abe's of Maine.
