Thanks for reply - my problem was really about what might the rattle be. Yes - I did pay through PayPal.
With seller not accepting returns it just gets more complicated, but I have requested a return.

No returns means you will probably get the lens free.
At this point the seller would lose MORE money if returned.
The rattle, wait tell you have your money back and find out.
Now nothing to lose.
By the way, this has been my experience three times.
Ebay and pay pal never entered into the matter.

And this is a problem you cannot take care of all by your little self?
OK grasshopper. Let me tell you what would happen if this happened to me.
I would notify the seller that I am returning the lens because something is rattling from within the lens. If the seller did not confirm the return within 2 days I would open a case with ebay.
I hope you paid through Paypal. Once the case is open, they will give the seller a limited amount of time to OK your return.
Trust me, Ebay and Paypal will take care of you. I have had to open two cases over my 15 years in doing business on Ebay and both times Paypal and Ebay stood by me and we got the issue resolved.
Good luck grasshopper.
And this is a problem you cannot take care of all ... (show quote)

So simple, it plumb evaded him.

Bogart spelled and signed it "Bogie", according to Lauren Bacall and to some autographed items I've seen.

Isn't a "bogey" a mechanical device on which railroad wheels are mounted?

It may also be a radar blip, acording to a lot of WWII movies.
Have to love the English language.

i wish i would have had a diff lens but i had to use the mpe65

I see little wrong other than a bit more light would have helped.
I had that lens.
Didn't get the 'hang' of it, so sold it and the expensive dedicated flash. Got my $ back in the sale, luckily.
You make yous perform well.

Anybody know anything about this spider?

The third picture indicates a Trash Line Spider. Cyclosa, except......
This looks like the genus Araneus. But they hide off the web with a 'telegraph' line to the hide.
They do not form a trash line.
Cyclosa produces a trash line and hang in the web, as shown in your photos. They also have a more teardrop shaped body.
So the upshot, I am stumped.
Anyone help?

Thank you for the vote of confidence.
Both you and tinusbum.
Gave me a grin.

Wish he was still active in photography but aging has not been kind to him.

Great shots.
Midges are only a few steps up on the food chain.
This is only the begining.

Reminded me of the old RCA Victor add with the dog and gramophone...

The statue of the dog and gramophone used to sit near the Bromo Seltzer tower coming into Baltimore on Russel Street.
Dog gone, (no pun), and the tower is gone or hidden by new construction, and Russel St. There, but ???
Insert long sigh here.

Thanks, Mark. I don't come across them that often for I suspect that they are very good at hiding when they burrow deep into the wildflower blossoms.

Often before you see them, they become aware of you, pull in their legs, and drop to the ground.
A common insect defense mechanism/ strategy.
