Just had a look at the reference manual you downloaded and it is not the one for the P900 - it is for the Coolpix 900 which is a 1.3mp compact camera - no wonder you could not find Manual Focus on Page 42. The Manual I sent as a PDF. should give you the necessary information re Manual Focus.
Thank you very much. This is good. I'm not the one you were addressing but I'd also looked at the wrong manual and never noticed. Only issues left is the sensor size and RAW, and they are not killers as far as I'm concerned. Maybe they can eventually take care of RAW in firmware update(?). I'll take care of sensor size with another camera eventually.
And, as I have already alluded, a cost of "super zoom" is always a small sensor. ....... you can always see the limits in dynamic range and color depth that come with a smaller sensor.
It appears Busch has left the building so I went out and did some searching and according to what I was able to find the answer to your inquiry is simply no. I thought as much since I couldn't find the option on mine but you never know maybe when Busch gets back he can clear up the issue for us.
Thanks. I was afraid of that. There's always a few things that prevent any camera from being the 'perfect' one for some and MF is something I think I need/want.
That is absolutely unreal. Hard to tell if those are tail feathers spread out like that or what. Whatever, the photo is totally unique. Bet you'll never see another like it from anyone. You got a keeper there for sure.
1, 4, 5, 6 - Those are my favorites. Never get tired of seeing good sunsets. And, after 72 years of them I'm pretty sure they are getting more precious.
Takes awhile to pan across the downloaded magnified view! Whew...
There's a lot of nice shots here and you did a great job of stitching them together. Yeah, so it's long and lean. You could always stitch fewer together and get several nice pics also. ron
I don't have much experience, as in zero with a good camera and lens - but your nice shots seem to have a ton of noise in magnified view. I'd be disappointed in the combo if I had used it for one of those 'once in a lifetime' shots. Maybe just the lens without the converter?
It seems to be different for everyone. I had my second eye done last Tuesday. Wednesday about noon the "plastic shower-curtain look" was gone and I was able to drive myself to the check-up appointment with the ophthalmologist. Distance vision is perfectly clear and sharp, but I'll have to wear glasses for reading and computer the rest of my life. Optometrist appointment coming up in May. My friend on the other hand, kept that "plastic shower-curtain look" for just about a week. For me, there was not much change in the colours around me; my friend however said, it looked like she had stepped into a new world with very vivid and intense colours. Hope they clear up soon for you too!

The 'shower curtain' is still with my second eye (done 1-1/2 weeks ago). The first eye cleared up in less than a week. This one is going to take much longer I guess. I don't mind the wait, just as long as it does clear.
You should understand it whether or not you shoot raw. It just means that that area of the photo is a blown-out, clipped highlight. You can post process until you're blue in the face, but you can't recover image data from a clipped area. For more info on this, read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clipping_%28photography%29
Gotcha. And thanks for the Wiki link. I believe I understand - at least a lot better than I did. ron
