A beauty. Can't wait for warbler season here in Maine. From the winter we are having STILL, it might be a while!

I highly recommend Lightroom. Great photo manager and not a bad PP either. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles as Photoshop but a great place to get your feet wet. The develop module is "non-destructive" so you can always go back to the original if you don't like what you've done.

Already have the Sigma 150-500mm and happy with it .
The new Tamron 150-600 has shown lots of good photo's for close to the same price as the Sigma 150-500mm.
Pete

Thanks Pete. My dilema is when will the new Tamron be released with a Nikon mount?

What would you pick for Wildlife and Birds in Flight. I see the Nikon is $400 off through today?

Very nice shots! How far away from the elk would you estimate you were? I am impressed with the SX50. I've seen some really nice pictures coming from this p&s camera.

I want to work on my landscape photography skills. I have primarily been doing mostly wildlife photography. Recently won a Nikon D7100. Great camera. Lots to learn coming from a D90. I know most landscape photographers use a wide angle lens to maximize DOF. What would be a good wide angle lens for me to purchase get my feet wet?

I have always gotten good advise from this group. Thanks in advance!

Read through the manual regardless. Finding feature from page on camera. PLAY

Then tomorrow PLAY some more with what you've learned.

Then come back to UHH with specific questions or click on 'search' for your question first. If no simple answer than 'ask us' for an answer.

I love my D7000 but only after 4-5 months of playing and finding out what it can really do.

Thanks sarge69. I always read the included manuals but they sometimes leave a bit to be desired in explaining some functions to the "less technically savy" folks such as I.

Any suggestions on reference manuals for the D7100? I won it in a raffle! My experience is that the manufacturers manuals are usually just too technical for me.

Will be in Florida in early March. Looking for some suggestions on good birding photography places. Flying into Orlando and will have a rental car so won't be restricted to just Orlando. Thanks in advance!
