Great shots Earl. Be sure and keep us updated on the blooming process.

Very nice as usual Ron.

Great artistry. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you all. I love the story Hal. I would get a shirt like that if I could remember where.
This American Kestrel seems to be confused about what kind of bird he is.
These effects were MOSTLY achieved in camera, but each required some tweaking in photoshop to get the final look. They are not pure high or low key, but they were the best I had on short notice.
Thanks Linda. Hint: check out the spherize filter under the distort filter.
Pretty close dannac. Great work!
The first two are one filter changes. See if you can figure out which filters were used. The third is a well known 3 click algorithm with two of the three being filters. The forth photo is an untouched original of a plant near a geyser in YNP. The fifth is a modification of that photo using MOSTLY filters, but one or two steps may include other "one click" processes. The challenge is to see if you can duplicate the fifth photo. Everything was done with PS.
Thank you all for your comments. When they are flying all around you, you have dozens of opportunities to get a good shot. Once in a while you get lucky.
We have them here too, including the subspecies "plasticus".

That is a very nice series Bill. Each one is a jewel.
