Roni, I see that you've sold some items here on the Hog and for that reason, I'm surprised that you would call the OP out for all to see, concerning his price. I think it would have been more appropriate to send him a a PM. When you have something to sell you shouldn't have to defend or explain the price. If it's too much, people won't respond. My two cents.

Right, if it is too much people won't respond. It is a great camera and if he really wants to sell it he should lower the cost.

I am surprised that you would call me out instead of sending me a private PM.

I have been called out here a few times with trying to sell items.
I was trying to help!

I am sure it is a great camera, but it is selling new at BH photo for $1700.
I also know all the added things you have must have cost you but the bottom
line is everything is used.

I think you are asking way to much for used gear. I have bought and sold several Sony cameras and lenses.
Just my opinion.

Roni,
You should try to go to 26 Broadway .
It was the original Standard Oil Building.
It has a similar marble staircase .
While you are downtown 111 & 115 Broadway have gorgeous lobbies

Thanks so much for that info. Charles Pratt was one of the owners of Standard Oil. I live in Glen Cove, one of 2 cities on Long Island and the summer homes of the Pratt mansions.
They are..
Glen Cove Mansion- event center
Killenworth- Russian embassy combound
Poplar Hill- now a nursing home and rehab center
Welwyn- home of the Nassau County Holocaust Museum
Webb Institute- Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, tuition free for students.

These are all Gold Coast Mansions.

Roni!

Those were the "good old days" of the LI Photography Meetup group. Even though I live in Manhattan, NYC I joined and attended many of Roni's events and shoots, out on Long Island.

I was also an instructor at Germain School of Photography back in the 80s when the school was located in the Woolworth Building. It was a vocational training school that offered a commercial photography curriculum with a number of tracks. I taught a studio course that used 4x5 film view cameras and involved the setup, shooting and the processing of the exposed film in both B/W and color. The school had a sink line with deep tanks for both B/W and E6 Ektachrome. C-41 and Ektacolor printing was also SOP.

Sometime after the school left the Woolworth Building and relocated near FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) in Midtown, the building's lobby was restored and public traffic was restricted. Tours were offered as mentioned by Roni.

Great photos and short history of the building. Be well!

Hey, Ed from NYC. Great to hear from you. I had no idea you were teaching in the building. It is amazing to see the inside.

I have been traveling with Chris L, he runs the NY meetup now.
We were in Cuba & then Iceland together and will be going to Tuscany soon.

Be well my friend.

Your watermarks are annoying and detract from otherwise nice photos. Try making them MUCH smaller and putting them on the lower right side.

Those images were taken 8 years ago. My watermarks are smaller now. Sometimes on the right side sometimes on the left side, depending on the images.

Thanks for your instructions.

Excellent photos of that old beautiful building, the architecture is fabulous and finishing touches are amazing. I was there as a child in the 50's with my parents. IF, a big if only, they could have saved the Penn Station....so much beautiful architecture was created in the early part of that century in NYC. Cheers Roni and thanks for the memories and beautiful photos..

Thanks so much for your kind words.
I think that is one of the things I love about traveling to Cuba & Italy. The history of the buildings, the architecture, just amazing.

Thanks, good memories for me. I did some carpentry repairs back around 1965. Great shots Roni, love them all. Just an old guy from The Bronx.

Thanks so much. My friend did the roofing there many years ago. I have more images on my website.

In 2019 I was the organizer for the Long Island Photography Meetup. We did a private event at the Woolworth Building in NYC.

**The Woolworth Building is an early American skyscraper designed by architect Cass Gilbert located at 233 Broadway in the Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. It was the tallest building in the world from 1913 to 1930, with a height of 792 feet.**
