I am a chaplain in a Florida prison. We have a large fiberglass baptismal where we baptize inmates quite often. It even has hot water so I don't get too cold! I'm sure Paul, with his influence, had a large wooden baptismal built so he could do baptismal services. Just kidding! Bob

Sproul has been a tremendous positive influence on me as I have read most of his books, gone to the Ligonier Conference for the past 15 years and almost daily show his DVDs in the prison where I am a chaplain.I got the notification of his passing yesterday from Ligonier Years from now, history may record him in the same category as Luther. He will be missed. My own pastor had him as a professor when he went to seminary and I can't think of anyone who has done more to bring back historic biblical orthodox teaching than Dr. Sproul Usually we say, may he rest in peace. In this case we can know that he is resting in peace! Bob

Better Answer: Thank you for accepting my apology and, of course, I accept yours too. Let's forget about theology and discuss the Canon vs Nikon debate!

Hey Rpavich: I am going to say a few things that may get you angry, but as a brother in Christ and one who totally agrees with your theology I feel I need to say the following. Remember we are very much in the minority theologically. We understand some things ONLY because God has chosen to open our spiritual eyes and ears to see what most Christians don't see. We rarely win any arguments on theology unless God choses to speak to the other person thru us. When discussing theology with other Christians over doctrines that we disagree on, rarely does anyone change their minds. Years ago I was at a Ligonier conference in Orlando with 6000 very serious reformed types. John McArthur debated Sproul on infant baptism. The debated lasted two hours. Numerous verses were quoted on both sides. In the end, no one won and no one changed their theology. As a chaplain in a prison setting, I have to deal with all kinds of Christians, non Christians, and faiths most people never heard of. We run a totally reformed worship service with numerous reformed Bible studies weekly. Rarely does an Arminian or Charismatic come to our services and change his mind. I too love to discuss the whole reformed/TULIP thing because I know how much it has increased my knowledge of what God is up to in my life, but I am very careful not to come across as trying to convert someone to my way of thinking as we might do in an evangelistic setting because usually all that does is divide the breathen. So I guess I am saying all this to say this, "speak the truth in love" Love Ya Bob

Hey Rpavich: I read your detailed answer very closely and tried to find just one or two points that were not consistent with orthodox, biblical theology. I could not find anything. You have a wonderful grasp of what God says in his Word. It's refreshing in this day and age. I'm wondering, when do you have time to take pictures? Just kidding! Blessings: Bob

The video is correct and right on the money and actually quite simple. Simply put, your feelings or interpretation of a verse mean nothing. Only what the writer, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, means is true. There is only one correct meaning to any one verse and one needs to find it. This is why we now have about 24,000 protestant denominations, not including all the orthodox, Roman Catholic, Coptic, etc churches all saying they believe in the Bible and coming up with different doctrines. Today many churches base their theology on feelings. Most pastors today are biblically illiterate. Like a famous detective once said, "Just give me the facts!" Blessings: Bob

The ones that believed did so because God made the first move in making dead men understand the Gospel by opening their spiritual eyes and ears to believe. They were the elect of God. God did that by his grace. Then these men saw their need to repent, also directed by God. Then God gave them faith. Again it is all of God. Man left to his own devices would never believe or repent. You don't save yourself by doing anything, including conjuring up some faith on your own. God does it all. Try to understand TULIP and it will all click. It took me 50 years to figure this out. I am 73. I'm in good company what with St Augustine, Luther, Calvin, Sproul, McArthur and most of the reformers. Once you understand how God has been working behind the scenes to save you, your salvation will become even more magnificent and you will want to obey even more. Blessings: Bob

Salvation is all of God. God does it all including giving us the faith. If we managed as dead men to somehow have faith, we could take some credit for our salvation. We start off dead in our sins. God makes us alive, God causes us to repent, God then gives us faith. If the faith came from us, we could take some credit for our salvation. The question really is, who is in charge, God or me? If you don't understand TULIP or the doctrines of grace, any one of the five points will seem un natural. But when you see how God planned His whole salvation plan, the light bulb will go on!

Rpavich remember that only about 1% of people that call themselves Christians would agree with reformed theology and only about 3% of those persons that are true believers understand the doctrines of grace. Even so called reformed denominations such as PCUSA or ELCA have changed their thinking and preaching from the pulpit from what their confessions say they actually believe. So sad! Blessings: Bob

I would agree with the Canon A1400. Does everything well with a viewfinder. I have three for spares! When I took sample pictures to compare with Nikon lens, I could not see any difference on the computer or in 8X10 prints. Cheap, discontinued, small, does PSAM, still can find on ebay for under $75. Size is a small pack of smokes. Bob

I have been using a Nikon D7100 with SD cards. I transfer pictures to my computer by taking out the card and inserting it directly into my laptop. I just got a used D300 that takes CF cards. How do I get the pictures onto my computer without using a wire thru the USB port from the camera? Is there a CF to SD adapter? What is a card reader? Specs say the camera uses CF1 and CF2 cards. Can I use newer models like CF4. I have no idea or knowledge of this CF thing. Please help and thanks. Bob

Hey Rpavich: I am a chaplain at a Florida prison. We could use some reformed help in the chapel. Ever think about moving to Florida? You seem to be able to give Sproul a run for his money!!! Appreciate you brother! Bob
