We've all spent hundres of dollars on our equipment. So have I. And I'm satisfied with the results. I don't see any reason to blow hundreds more dollars on new gagdetry. With the mirrorless cameras my biggest concern are two factors. They haven't been on the market long enough to prove their reliability in the long haul. Secondly with the mirrorless camera the sensor is exposed and prone to damage. So. Here's to the old addage, "If it aint broke, don't fix it."

I document my household inventory every four months, be it photographic equipment, electronic appliances, guns, and everything else we have of value. God forbid, a theft, fire, or natural distaster, I want to make sure that we're covered.

Whatever kind or brand that is, it's more than I can afford.

I have done a lot of gigs of this nature. Here are the factors that you have to consider. Is this gig for a geographical location or is it an established restaurant? Is this shoot in your local community or do you have to travel? If you have to travel, how far? Will you have to edit your photos? All these things have to be taken into consideration. Also take into consideration, how much time and out of pocket expense will this involve. Then you can negotiate a price with the potential customer.

I feel the same way. I rarely use LR. I too use Adobe Bridge and Adobe Camera Raw.

Any call where the caller speaks with a forign accent is a scam. They're almost always generated from an underdeveloped country. When in doubt of the legitimacy of an unsolicited call, report it to the FTA.

Should you decide to buy it, make sure you're getting a full factory warranty. Make sure that you're not dealing with grey market.

I'm only 72. And I thought I was the only one who did stupid things like that.

I had the same problem with my Canon 6D. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. It happened with all my lenses. I was convinced that something was either wrong with my camera or I needed new glasses. Using autofocus the photos came out fine, but they were blurry through the view finder. I felt like an idiot when I figured out what the problem was. There's a little wheel at the upper left corner of the eye piece to focus the view finder. That corrected the problem. Although I use Canon, I'm sure that this feature is on all major brands.

I am looking for a recommendation for a quality insurance company that I can get for my camera equipment. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks so much.

If you are a hobbyist, your homeowner's or renter's insurance should cover it. If you are a professional, I have a very good plan through Alstate Insurance. I have an agent out of the Salt Lake City area. His name is Howard Burklholz. He sold me a plane that covers professional photographers. All my equipment is covered. My premiums are $21.50 per month with a $500 deductible. Fortunately I haven't had to file any claims as of yet.

If you had the incandescent lights on at the house while shooting, you may get a color shift

I think you've answered my question. However. For outdoor shots I set my camera accordingly. And I'm sometimes getting yellow clouds when they should be white.

I recently did a shoot of a house for a realtor. I used a Canon 6D and a Canon Speedlite 430EX. Most of the photos came out good but some of them had excessive color imbalance. For some of the interior shots it was as though I used a red filter. Too much red everywhere. And for a couple of outdoor shots all the colors were well balanced except for the clouds. They were yellow. Where do I need to make readjustments, or is there something wrong with the camera or the flash gun?

Emailing Pictures Tests:

I have had no problems sending pictures through email, but there are some idiosyncrasies which should be determined and taken into account depending upon the email clients being used. I ran a minimal series of tests, with the following parameters and results, but best to check out the combinations you use.

I use Outlook through Windows and my private website email addresses plus Gmail through Thunderbird.

OS is latest Windows 10.

Sending 4 pictures, as copy and paste, and again as file attachments.

When received, saving, so as to check file name and size.

Original picture sizes: 4.5 MB, 4.5 MB, 1.5 MB, 74 KB.

In 6 different tests, all pictures sent and received OK (though with some differences).

Sending from Outlook to my website email address – copy and paste
Pics went with original names and sizes

Sending from Outlook to my website email address – files as attachments
Pics renamed and resized (by Outlook) to 62, 93, 73, and 73 KB

Sending from my website address to Outlook – copy and paste
Pics renamed, but retained original size

Sending from my website address to Outlook – files as attachments
Pics went with original names and sizes

Sending from Gmail to Outlook – copy and paste
Pics renamed, but retained original size

Hope this is of some help,

You don't mention what computer you are using, Windows or Mac. You didn't mention the version of the operating system you are using, or the processor, or the amount of ram you have. And lastly you didn't mention the three recommended cards or the card you will be replacing. Understand that the choice of graphics card will, in part, depend on an appropriate available slot for it and and power supply that will be compatible with it. Without knowing the details of your computer there no way anyone can make a reasonable suggestion. I am also concerned that current processing takes between 45 minutes and 1 hour. That is extremely excessive even if you are using your computer's CPU for Topaz processing rather than a graphics card's GPU. That says to me you have an older computer with significant limitations. Those limitations may include insufficient Ram, an older slower processor, and/or insufficient virtual memory, amount other things. If that is the case, a fast graphics card may only be a bandaid.
