Good morning all. My Nikon D3 has the dreaded ERR message. After looking online for fixes I believe it is time to send in for repair. I call Authorized Photo Services. The gentleman I talked with assured me that they do repair Nikon as well as my D3. My question to you is has any one had any experience with this company?

I think this guy repairs all brands. But you have to send your camera to Saigon.

The choice shouldn't be which camera to take. It should be the means of convaince.(if I spelled it right).

did you mean "conveyance"?

If you go all the way to Alaska, you like to come back with quality photos. So take the D7500 with 70 to 300 zoom. But I also would take a wide angle lens for landscape images.

Very nice and sharp images. I had 2 pairs at my home, but they left a while ago, I'm only a little south of you.

Are they 8mm or Super 8mm? If both, if you find a projector make sure it's a dual pupose projector.

Did you install your SD card? My GX8 with remote doesn't work without the card installed.

For the money the ef 400 f 5.6L is very sharp. With the 1.4 you can get to 560 mm. A good used copy should be about $900. Here is a comparison with the Tamron.

I used to own that lens. Yes, it is sharp and a lightweight. What I didn't like, was the 11-1/2 ft minimum focusing distance.

The other day I was walking around a Salt Marsh near my home. Then, I saw a reddish-orange bird with black wings. It was a Scarlet Tanager. I snuck along to get a photograph with my Canon 5D Mark IV and and it’s 28-135mm lens. It wasn’t close enough to get a definitive tack sharp photograph. Quickly, I switched to a 70-300mm lens. I also had poor results. I’m actually embarrassed to attach these blurred photos.

My question is this. Should I invest in a 150-600mm lens to obtain tack sharp photos of some birds?

I also have the 5D mark IV. I'm using the Canon EF 100-400 II with a Canon 1.4x iii extender. Focusing is very fast, and down to 3-4 feet. In the attached cropped photo, the distance to the Hummingbird was about 15 feet. I'm very happy with the setup.

But they went to the moon using the metric system.

He’s talking about the lack of a viewfinder, not adapting the lens.

The original question was about adapting the Leica screw-mount lenses to any camera. Apparently he bought a Sony a5000, and uses his Visoflex with this camera, which can not be directly attached to the camera. I just try to help out and make it easier for him. ....... Going back a few posts, I notice that he has the adapter already.

I believe you have the Sony a5000 mirrorless. Why don't you just use this adapter?

Get a card reader for your desktop. I never use the transfer cable from the camera to the computer.

I also have an iMac desktop, but for casual surfing the net and traveling I have a 2015 12"MacBook. Just the right size for my backpack. After 5 years of usage, it still runs great.
