Not as good as Rich's or Irene's, but here's my take. It was done from the DNG file in PS RAW. Believe it or not, I started with AUTO! It helped! Tweaked from there.

As always, "good" is subjective. Your image is quite true to the original while mine is a manipulation. Which is 'gooder' is in the eyes of the beholder

The man apologized and attempted to smooth the waters but I guess you didn't get your pound of flesh yet and proceeded to insult him.

Now who's out of line?
Btw JoeJoe you could have mentioned in your last post that you just today added this line to your posts, "Ask before you edit any of my images...… They are all copyrighted "

B&H rejected my 300mm f2.8 Nikon lens because it has a bad case of internal fungus...their used department tells me. My question to Hoggers is who's had experience getting such a lens refurbished particularly by a Nikon authorized factory service?
1) Was it cost effective?
2) Which service did you use?
3) How long did it take.
4) Were you satisfied with the result?

I'm trying to decide whether to have the lens refurbished before trying to sell it privately or trying to trade it in with someone other than B&H or maybe even B&H. I've used the lens all over the world with no problems so it came as a surprise that B&H wouldn't take the lens as direct purchase or in trade because of internal fungus.
B&H rejected my 300mm f2.8 Nikon lens because ... (show quote)

When you're down to your last option, the trash heap, here's a desperation move. Most fungus cannot survive high temperatures. Put the lens in an oven for about 30 mins @ 160 degrees.
I have no idea what that will do to lens adhesives, plastics are also a concern, but like I said last ditch effort. If the glue and plastic can handle this you will at the least have a lens you can use.

WOW! Some very creative and excellent edits. Must be a lot of cat lovers he was in almost every edit. But I’m partial to old dogs, drunks and watermelon wine or something like that.

#7 for me

Thought I'd include the rest of the town. Across the street from the Mall was a couple of homes

Paraphrasing Oliver Platt in a 3 Musketeers movie "Rochford" I thought that was a smelly cheese. Sorry, sometimes I just can't help myself

Found it! Even though this is a B&H price/advertisement, not Nikon's price, who cares! I thank you for the alert! I'm considering another Z7, or perhaps a Z6 as a backup. hard to pass up at this price point.

I found it also. B&H is an authorized dealer and the camera has a Nikon 90 day warranty. I'd guess the price is also a Nikon price.

Refurbished are generally not defective ones. Most of them are returned ones that people bought but returned in short time or loaners to reviewers.

Very true. Customers often change their mind and companies like B&H allow them to return items within a certain period of time. When the camera is returned it can no longer be sold as new. If the camera is returned to Nikon at this point for inspection etc and if Nikon only gives it a spit shine it will be listed as refurbished

I guess I'm a neanderthal (this was a long time ago) I just wrapped over the grip with gaffers tape. Plus, it'll help give you that certain "look"

I can post a picture. I knew I would get some good feedback here on how to make things steadier. Not all the pictures are bad but I know some are because I can see the movement through the lens.

I mentioned in an earlier post "heat waves". Even on a cold day temperature differences will give you heat waves and you will see them through your lens. The longer your lens, because of compression the more apt you are to running into the problem
