Can I buy admition tickets without having to pay for rooms?

Sure. You can register for just the sessions you want to attend. I think Saturday night is going to be a shootout. There will be backdrops, models, and lights set up....and photographers will be able to shoot form 7:00 to midnight (not too sure of the time) it will be a lot of fun getting to meet others and ....will be a learning process as well.

Find Jee Jee's Cowherd's number on the website and tell her Ed Overstreet sent you. You can join the association without being member of PPA...not too sure why but you can and a first year membership is 94.00. This will also get you into all of the 6 days of the convention.

Thanks Ed. Hope to see you there.

He must be a well trained dog to be able to eat with a knife and fork.

I'm thinking I was the one well trained. He's spoiled rotten. :)

I too have elements 10 and am overwelmed by it. I bought a book that so far hasn't been much help. It turns out that elements is a very complicated program.

BUT I started going to youtube and typed in "photoshop elements 10 totorials" and watched a couple of the videos there. Some are way too complex, others just go over things too quickly so you have to look around and find what you want to do then find a video that shows you how it's done. I also recomend you take notes.

It seems like a lot of trouble to go through but it's probably the best training tool out there because you can narrow down just what effects you're trying to learn to do and focus on them.

Hope this helps.

Great portrait of Louie, What breed is this guy ?
Hoppy

I call him a miniature wire haired north american chick magnet hound but he's really a dachsund/poodle mix.

Cute kinda has hair like Kramer from Seinfeld

He does have some wild bad hair days every now and again. His liberty spike mohawks are awesome though.

Maybe you have a faulty battery. The first backup battery I bought wouldn't hold a charge. I took it back and returned it for another and everything works great now.

Thanks Roadrunner. That was taken on the Saluda River that runs Through Columbia SC. It's usually only a trickle but they let some water out of the dam every now and again.

As photophly says the color one does show more detail but imho I prefer the b/w. It's got some kind of spooky eeriness about it that I like.

I guess it depends on what you're looking for.

I took this with a canon p/s years ago. I had just gotten there and turned the camera on and didn't have time to zoom.

Hope it counts as wild water.

I've been wathcing these threads for 2 weeks now and have been blown away by all the great photos. Most of all I envy those that can find the time to pick up your camera with all that everyone has to do in a day.

Come to think of it...where is my camera?

Oh there it is...about 17 on my to-do list today....sigh...
