This past couple of weeks I ordered a cheap Fotosay Leica R to Nikon Z mount adapter from Amazon.
It was a few cents over $16.00 w/ tax. I received it in the exact amount of time they said for it to be
delivered. The small white box that it came in was correctly labeled. When I opened the box it had a
Exacta to Nikon Z mount adapter inside. I informed Amazon and they gave me the locations of some
Amazon depots in my area. I returned it with the request that they send a replacement. I got another
back to me in two days. When I opened the correctly identified box lo and behold it had another Exacta
to Nikon Z mount adapter!. When I informed them this time they said that my bank card would be credited.
I would like to state that at this point in time I do not have a Z mount camera. The reason for the purchase
was to see how securely the R mount lenses would fit. $16 isn't exactly a high risk investment. Apparently
they were mispackaged at the factory in China. The folks at Amazon are order pullers. They just read what's
on the box and go from there. I am not angry about this just a bit amused. There are other makes of adapters
as there are sources to buy from. I considered ordering an Exacta mount to Z mount adapter hoping to find a Leica R mount adapter. I hope this post has garnered a few chuckles.

Since you bought it to see how securely the R mount lenses would fit, can we infer that you are not concerned about how securely the Z mount may fit?

Will someone recommend a remote shutter release for my Nikon 750 Thanks joe

The recommended remote release should be listed in your manual under "Accessories."

I give everyone the benefit of the doubt - if they have a camera, they can take a picture. The brand and type of camera is immaterial. Anyone who puts a brand name in their user name is an obvious fanboy - not to be taken seriously. Images posted online are meaningless - who knows how much they may have been fussed up in post?
That said, I will follow the film section, and if it doesn’t get too silly I may contribute and hope everyone believes me when I say that any image I may post will be straight out of the camera, except for some cropping, which is nearly always necessary. If I cannot expose, develop and scan it properly, it gets trashed.

Did you see this, RWR? The leopard has not changed its spots.

JohnSwanda offered good advice. The more thought you put into it before tripping the shutter, the less you will have to fake afterwards.

This is something nobody seems to talk about. I believe it happens on all there Alpha models...anyway I have experienced it on the A6300, 6400, 7R3, &r4 and 9 II.

You are focused on a subject and you shift the focus to another area, then focus back on the subject and it won't focus...it stays locked on the last focus until you shift the focus to another area...then it will focus back on the original subject.

I had suspected it was due to a low contrast subject but it happened in bright sun with the A9 II. I could repeat it at will about 50% of the time. Tried all the focus and metering options and it didn't make much difference.

Sony users let me know if you have experienced the same and if there is a solution for it.

Sorry, I just realized I put the decimal point in the wrong place. The lens is $699.00 (not $6.99). WOW, that would be a great price. I'll have to do a better job proof reading my work. Doug

I knew that was a typo, of course. I've not purchased a refurbished lens myself, but many of my colleagues, and a lot of UHH folks, consider them to be as good as, or better than, new. If I want another lens, I'll buy refurbished.

The bulb weight 2 lbs but no matter how much I tighten the screw the light slowly shifts down.
I have thought about grinding the surfaces with a dremel but maybe there is something better I never thought of.

If the screw doesn't have enough threads, you might add a washer or two, or use a screw with more threads. Or, you might score a few radial lines on each side of the male part with your Dremel. Or, you may be able to spread the female side apart enough to insert a star washer or two. Do let us know how you resolve it. Good luck!

I'm thinking about purchasing the Tokina 16-28 F2.8 Opera lens. When I went to the Tokina website I noticed that they're selling their factory refurbished lenses for about $300 less that a new one. My question is does anyone have experience with factory refurbished lenses in general, maybe Tokina specifically. The Tokina lens is a good price as is at $6.99, but any extra money in my pocket is better than money out of my pocket. I did notice that the factory warrantee is only 90 days. I don't know if this could/should be a deal breaker. Thanks for your feedback.

You didn't say whether the $6.99 lens is new or refurbished, but at that price I wouldn't be concerned.

I have many memory cards (I do not trust any digital storage alone). I keep them in a box, in labeled sleeves. Does anyone have another system? I was thinking about something in a large loose leaf notebook, but I do not know how I would set up the holders for the cards.

I store mine in their slot next to the battery. They've never gotten damaged, dirty, or corrupted.

Anyone capable of doing their own thinking would test their lenses at each aperture and avoid mixed feelings.

We are going to Hawaii next month and will be visiting the Volcanic National Park on the Big Island. I wonder if any of you with experience photographing volcanoes could give me a little advice on how to to that. I will be using my Sony RX100VII and iPhone 11. Thanks in advance.

Generally you need to meter, focus, compose and shoot. With your phone, point and shoot.

Why is there so many used D750s, and a lot of 850s as well, available for resale and yet so few D500s listed. Did the Z series adversely impact the 750/850 market?

I realise that this will likely go over many UHH heads, but it could be that one reason there are more second hand D750s and D850s than second hand D500s being offered for sale is that there are more folks wanting to sell their second hand D750s and D850s than there are those who want to sell their second hand D500s.
