T2i 18-250. Just got new 6d. Thanks

Hi, My name is Peggy. I am not really new here but it has been a long time and many months of heartbreak since being here last.
I lost my husband of 38 years in April, after 4 months in hospital. I won't go into all the things I am going through trying to dissolve a business, dealing with step-children, and trying to settle his personal estate and finding money to pay for a 200.00 hr. lawyer. So I am choosing to try even harder to get good at my passion, photography. I just got a 6d, haven't used it yet, waiting on getting a 70-200. Got a 50mm 1.4 when I got camera. I am looking forward to learning from all the great photographer's on UHH. Please be patient you are dealing with a woman (blonde) who spent 30 minutes trying to get into a car that wasn't mine the other day. Same color, same kind. LOL

Besides the baseboard going through head, what else is wrong.

I use canon 550D on some with tamron 18-270 and 50mm
also, use Sony Nex 6

Suggestions please

I have set up 3 softboxes (I should say someone did it for me) I want to get a light meter but I have no clue what to get or how they range in price. I have a new great-grandbaby I am taking many photos of. Thanks for your help.
