My guess is you are running out of ram.
I never thoght of that. I usually don't multiple shots, but your what you say makes sense. I tend to have higher capacity SD cards vs CF though, but can change when I go to my grandsons soccer games. my cf card is 120 mbps, my sd is 95, so that should make a difference.
I had a problem with one of mY CF cards. My 5dmk4 has two slots. i record RAW on the SD, jpeg on the CF. I had about 20% of the jpegs corrupted, with rainbow streaks across the picture. I use PS CC. I was playing around with the card and stumbled on being able to open the pictures uncorrupted. so try using a different software package.
I didn't do much later as I had the Raws. By the way, it only happened wit 1 CF card, not another one i have, so i discarded the card. I have no issues with the second CF card I use.
every once in a while the same happens to me. i force the shutdown using the power button method. starts up and works fine. i have 16 gb ram. the computer is a 2012, so there may be some other compatibility issue given the age of the computer. I dont have any issues with my Macbook pro,
i went through the same list of things for getting prints to look like what was on the screen. Calibrated monitor, calibrated printer, changed room lighting, etc. even bought a higher end HP printer, then the Pixma Pro 100.
Frustrated, I finally broke down and decided to read the instructions so to speak. i warched several youtube videos and one said to make sure to check the profiles in Adobe Raw and photoshop.... whats a profile.
I thought I already did change the profile. but then they pointed me to the assign profile menu item under the "edit". its all the way down the menu list, which does not show up unless you scroll down to the bottom of the list. an there was a ver long list of printers and photo papers. i assigned the profile an have had near perfect print results ever since.
i say near perfect. once in a while i forget to turn on the light in my room, and i get in troouble with print brightness being off.
so where do you want to live? but you cant get there, no roads, no bridges, no schools, no police, your neighbor built his house 1 foot from yours and has 50 dogs. i could go on.
I would love to try it for a week.
i'll pile on, Canon Pro 100. like any printer, make sure you correctly chose the proper printer profile and paper being used otherwise you will get a photo that does not match what is on your screen.

Mant cameras will not accept a micro SD even if you put it in the adapter. best to just buy an sd card.
cant teach 330 million people new tricks
I have about 10 lens for one brand camera, so very difficult to change. Some of the newer cameras come with adapters, but not to go from a Canon to a Nikon. i would love to get the d850, but now we are talking thousands in new lens. I have a 5mk4, am pretty happy with it but want a higher megapixel since I crop many of my pictures. I've considered the 5DSR, but from feedback if one had a choice as a standalone purchase the d850 is the preferred. I hate to wait too much longer for new cameras as I am getting up in years. Mirrorless, perhaps, but the Canon r is only 30 mp. i do not do sports, mostly stills, landscapes, grandkids, flowers, birds, architecture. i have no need for video. not sure what to do. I guess I should rent a 5dsr and see if its what would meet my needs.
