Hello,

Anyone using the Flashpoint XPLOR 600 TTL or the equivalent Godox 600 Witstro TTL with the R2 TTL Transmitter for Nikon? My question is, how do you get flash exposure compensation (FEC) to display on the 600 display when commanded from the R2 remote transmitter? You can set the flash exposure compensation directly (FEC) on the 600 and it displays and exposes properly, but if set from the camera (D800) with R2 remote it does not display the FEC value but the flash exposes properly.

Thanks,

Mike

The D500 will only use Nikon batteries. I have a 2 Promaster batteries that I use interchangeably with Nikon batteries in my D810 and D750 - they do NOT work in the D500.

Took delivery on 4/21, got home and inserted one and it did not work. Called Service Photo, my dealer, they said they had heard rumors but with my camera, it was the first they had actually seem. Said they called Nikon which confirmed the fact.

Thank You fot your response. I am sure the 3rd party folks, will catch up. In the mean time when I do get my D500 I will purchase a couple exta Nikon batteries.

I would not use a third party battery on any new Nikon Camera while under warranty. After the warranty, OK. You're only talking a savings of $20 or so. Not worth it for a $2000 new camera. IMO.

For those of you that have the Nikon D500 already. If you have 3rd party batteries that you have used in your prior camera, have you tested to see if they work in the D500...This is of course assuming that you have a camera that uses the same model battery.. TIA..

Anyone with current impressions of or comments on any of the following: Promaster, Nissin, Yongnuo, or others?

Looking for a Speedlight for my D7100. Presently have an older Sunpak 555, however I am looking for something that will work automatically with the camera with a zoom lens (once I get one of those). Right now, with a prime, the auto functions are not an issue, but when I add a zoom, they will be.

My local camera shop sells Promaster. Prices are halfway between Nikon and Yongnuo. The shop used to sell Nissin, but no longer do. I put my hands on a Promaster this afternoon, and they feel solidly built.

I don’t really care about off-camera flash or wireless capabilities. What I’m looking for is something that will do what I can do with my Sunpak, but with less “futzing”. Something similar in GN to the Sunpak, without having to buy the Nikon. Basically, I need something that will light something up that’s up to 150’ away, maybe more.

Any recommendations or comments, positive or negative. Do any of you use these “3rd party” flashes and, if so, are you happy with your choice or do you wish you’d gone with the “name” brand?

I need a new speed light.
Ive watched all the videos, Ive read reviews, I searched
yn565ex here on UHH.
The reviews are excellent for this light. ( I hate reviewers they usually tell you how great something is and they only use it for a few minutes)
There was someone here that had a problem with the light but the company was going to replace it, but the review was from a few years ago.

So has the company made a new model? If so what # is it? if not who has been using this light and how do you like it?

The light will go on a Nikon d810.... if not this light which one should you suggest. I have around $100 to spend.

These Yungnuo YN560III Speedlights work great. Selling because I am taking a class that deals with TTL and needed the 600 version. I have used these several times with Pocket Wizards for off-camera flash and they worked wonderfully. Boxes, flash cases, instruction manuals are all included. They retail around $64...asking $125 for all 3. Shipping included. PayPal please.
