Thank you Ballard, I just PA and adjusted the guide scope and 8pm I was hauling in the photons. I still have the spiders web and the way I see it is, if it isn't snagging cables and the guiding between .5 and 1 pixel than leave it be. I'm finishing up shooting Sh2-239 and LDN1551 before I start collecting on the HH ,Orion,Flame and Running man.At least that's my plan yall. Sidewalk astronomy , there is always an exception to the rule, as long as it works well; don't mess with it, I enjoy what I do.

I've tried and tried to get rid of Widows web , I guess they're staying, I keep getting cable snags when I touch her web. I clean her web constantly getting rid of her babbies. I don't understand how to manage the cables after 6 years of trying , I gave up, the web beat me {If it isn't broke don't mess with it, I'll screw it up ALBERIO.} I use N.i.n.a for a backup Sonny , if I can't get it to connect or get frustrated at SGP, I'll disconnect and setup a sequence with N.I.N.A and away I go or I'll just fire up Sharpcap and run live stacking and run. Always have a backup plan fellas it'll save a clear night of frustration.

Yall are fortunate. We just had up to 60mph winds blow through Fri and trees and debris everywhere. My rig is shielded by the house, I'm thankful ,Tornadic would've been tragic. Europa, those are awesome. I like the rose tint around the core . I'd frame them .

Alanna wanted a deck patio, I wanted an Observatory . compromise?, it's a win win and I was out collecting photons 3 hrs after it was finish. You may wonder about whether there is any vibration NO ! 4X6 posts 4ft deep, 2x8 planks, plenty of concrete , stablized no noticeable movement in guiding when Alanna was walking on it nor when a train comes by. Platform is made of 4x 2x8 plank boards with waterproof 4" flooring, it's moveable and very heavy 2 men to move it {it doesn't slide}.

Impressive images Ballard, I might get there next or so . When you live with trees that are well over 100 yrs. old and protected. I can't complain we have really pretty canopies over our roads around here. I just keep adding whenever I visit back on a target. Happy new year and hoping for an even better 2023

Great Sonny, I do what I can with what I have. I hope 2023 will be a much better year for sky shooting. It's a lot to take in and everything has to sync up , with your equipment you'll be happy with your results. Happy New Year , layering the colors is a pita to get it the way I want it..

Hey Sonny , your making strides in the right direction. It's a whole lot easier when you know someone with a similiar set-up. Ed , helped me get up and running . As far as spacing goes it depends on your image train. I have coma which requires a corrector which added frustration, I stepped back and pondered on the situation and pulled the corrector out of the focuser and then saw a large donut , kept pulling ever so slowly and star focus. I tightened thumb screws with pliers in Luminance was all I needed to start off. Sonny, you may have to add a field flattener which will be another piece to try to space. At this point it's trial and error until you get your initial focus, then it's bahtinov time and focusing each channel will be easy peasy. I had already got a spacer set when I got the asi174mm years ago and I only used a 2mm spacer. Those thin rings are worth their weight in gold, without you might break something in frustration kicking and screaming. I run one channel a night and then sleep while darks run , that is the way I roll and they come out better than the other bunch way plus they work with my flats .I don't waste the time running a batch of bias I take the avg. from my flats in my stacking program. I run sgpro and stack with ccdstack 2+and the finish in Pscs2. It is sure nice being inside during the boil and the freeze, scarecrow eh?

Hi Sonny, Woh ! take a beath going from OSC to monochrome with colored and narrowband filters has spacing between each piece of equipment to meet your backfocus. Marc hit the nail on the head. I only do 1 channel a night and it needs to be checked for focus each night out, it sits on the driveway permanently except thru severe hurricanes. Spacers, spacers, spacers, and more spacers , I had to reach 57.5mm I think from the camera sensor to the sweet spot and had to pull my coma corrector 2.5 inches out of the focuser tube after getting all the spacers in place to reach the sweetspot . I tell ya "gotta love this astrophotography "Rabbit hole". I still use team viewer and sleep after I run my light frames. I broke down and got me a Dark frame filter that keeps me inside after Polar alignment is done "no more putting the dust cover on" to take darkframes. Sonny , it took a while but, I'm not sitting in the cold anymore, Sgp handling everything else. You'll get it Sonny, you don't need to be a rocket scientist to have fun, unless you want to do some photometry or spectroscopy and astrophysics from your backyard on variable stars.
