I’m sure electric cars will prove to be an interim measure as many of the issues will prove too costly, even impossible to overcome. Hydrogen or a derivative seems to be more of a long term solution.

Interestingly my Grandson is TUI pilot in the U.K. and flies the ‘now safe’ 737 Max. Having originally undergone a very short training input to fly the version that crashed, he had to undergo a two day training course including simulators to qualify to fly the latest version.
It’s far greater range means he now flies to West African holiday destinations including Cape Verde islands. These are too far to fly there and back in a day, so he now enjoys a spell between flights, sunning himself poolside at some rather nice hotels.

When I visited the factory a couple of years ago, they were concerned about supplies being maintained due to the spread of ‘Ash dyeback’ across the UK. They were experimenting at the time with other woods and although they indicated they had identified one if needed, they were reluctant to disclose at the time what it was.

He was never banned from the competition. He was banned from the country by the Aussie immigration and Political leaders. This meant he was unable to participate in the tennis competition, the authorities of which would have welcomed his presence in the event with open arms.
