I just picked up a classic Nikon 300mm F4.5 AI manual focus lens in new condition. Works great and images are sharp. I am using it on my Nikon D750. Is there a teleconverter which will work with this manual focus lens? If so, what do i search for? If this were a current lens i could just buy one but this lens is from the early 70's.

Thanks in advance ...........

Lens is sharp for its age

This lens reviewed by Ken here is a newer lens. Mine is the Nikon 300mm 4.5 AI which is all metal and much older. Like from the early 70's ....

I think it's a little too high myself that's why I'm not going to pay the asking price if he won't budge not a big deal I just keep looking. Camera deals to be had every day.

If he stalls too much longer the price will “budge” on its own. This market only ever goes down, never up. It’s a verrrry nice camera. He might enjoy keeping it.

Thanks. My issue is damaged discs from a 1988 auto accident. I was waiting to make a turn and a pizza delivery guy, playing with his radio instead of paying attention to the road, rear ended me at 35 mph. Things have not been the same since and are really getting bad as I age. Yes, I sued and won but money does nothing for the pain. Will mention your device to my doctor.

I really want to upgrade to full frame DSLR but budget is an issue. Right now, I use the Canon 70D. My interest is landscape, portraits, some wildlife, and some social photography.
I am looking at the Canon 6d MKIOI which is now on sale at about $1200. At DPREVIEW.com, the review is not as good as I would like to see. But I wonder if they might just be biased against Canon in general. I have been all Canon for 30+ years.
Questions:
1. Has anyone in UHH used this camera and willing to share their opinion - good, bad, ugly?
2. 42nd St Photo has good prices. Are they a good place to buy?

Thank you in advance for the help.

Stay away from 42nd St Photo and Abe's of Maine.

Procam, B&H Photo or Adorama. I have personally dealt with Procam for the last 7 years since I live near Livonia, MI, and have ordered from B&H Photo.

I've been looking for an ultrawide to use on a compact mirrorless camera (Canon M5). Came across a Meike 12mm f/2.8 demo unit... and was very skeptical. Not a brand I'd usually look to for a lens! But, what the heck, it was only $125 (sells new for under $200).

Manual focus, manual aperture, surprisingly nice "feel" to the controls and mostly metal construction. Nice caps and plastic lens hood (bayonet with a latching mechanism.... unfortunately doesn't reverse onto the lens for storage).

Photo below was shot with it yesterday (outside my local Starbucks, which has finally reopened!) Aperture was f/8. 24MP, APS-C camera. A B+W Kaesemann C-Pol was used (uneven effect, as might be expected on an ultrawide). I only did a little tweaking to the exposure and some slight sharpening to the image, which is uncropped, although it's downsized a bit from the full 4000x6000 pixel original.

Let me know what you think...

The err problem on my D750 pops up when I try doing video - everything locks up. I have to remove and reinstall the battery AND THEN hit the shutter release. A lot of mirror noise going on. It's like the camera gets all confused when using "live view". I have given up shooting video on the 750 and now looking at the Nikon P1000 or the Sony RX10 IV.

I would send the D750 to Nikon service. Certainly sounds like there is a malfunction in this camera.

Since our computers are a vital part of our digital imaging experience, I thought I would share a recent experience.
My computer is less than a year old with an i7 processor and 32 gb of memory. Some months ago, the fan noise become very noticeable and varied in intensity from a moderate hum to a very loud roar.
A call to Dell support resulted in them sending out a technician who changed out all of the fans in the machine, including replacing the video card. The noise did subside, but recently the issue surfaced again. For another unrelated reason, I downloaded a fresh copy of Google Chrome without uninstalling the existing copy. A short time later, the fan noise came back with a vengeance.
A call to Dell Tech support did not resolve the issue. A diagnostic check did not show any issues. The tech suggested it might be a software issue and suggested a complete reinstall.
On a hunch, I uninstalled Chrome and then downloaded a new copy.
Now there is absolutely no fan noise; even with both Photoshop and lightroom opened, images displayed, and my browsers and e-mail program opened.

An internet search confirmed that this is a frequent issue.

Sounds like the bearing of a fans going out they don't last forever. Fans cost between $10 and $30 just replace it. Fans are very easy to replace usually four screws and a plug.
