The cops must be smarter now, they are required to have a degree these days. Gone are the good old boys who would grab a law breaker and beat the hell out of them and teach them a lesson so to speak. NOW they are mostly a bunch of educated as*&%!#$ that pulls out the weapon of choice and pulls the trigger until it no longer makes any more loud noise. Dead crooks can't sue and can't testify. Personally I don't feel any safer when I see weapons on ANYBODY, irregardless who or what they are, unless they are in my "sights"!

Have you ever tried using plain old Listerene mouth wash? Just put it in a spray bottle and mist everything around you. It has alcohol in it so be careful what the mist lands on. Fabric softener sheets also help. DEET containing products will work good but is usually oily and smelly. Taking doses of "B" vitamins daily also helps.

So you can't have a DSLR with a 100mm prime but you can have a p&s with a 1000mm zoom because the lens is not interchangeable?

As usual, this shows the mentality of the people making the rules. How many times have you wondered "what were they thinking?" Once again the ones with the most influence, and the least knowledge , hold the controls.

Yes from what I can see in the googled pics it would be considered a bridge.

is it better to bracket 1 full stop up and down or two. and does this extra difference give more contrast ratio? what would happen with 3? and this is going to be a stupid question..... I know the 4/3rds camera's etc. but what is a bridge camera?

I'd say this is one that falls under the "more is better" catagory. My camera will only go to +/-2, which did better for me than +/-1. Yes I think it added more contrast ratio. A bridge camera is basically a minature DSLR without an interchangeable lens. They have through the lens viewing and live mode usually and most have a broad spectrum lens that can handle macro close ups and tele-photo. Their controls are also similar in function and design for the most part. I also think the only stupid questions are the ones you already know the answer to. :-)

Personally I love B&W HDR or not. There are times where certain colors distract rather than add to an image. I think back to Look magazine and some of their photos from sporting events or political conventions they would have been uninteresting in color but had great depth of field in B&W.

Right! I always thought it was interesting that B&W photos (and movies) are held in such high regard, since they are not at all realistic. Suppose color film was the first to arrive on the scene. How would late-comer B&W be viewed (no pun intended) then?

Good Lord Jerry I didn't think of that aspect but probably should have. One of my young granddaughters once told me she was really glad the world was now in color and that it must have been sorta ugly when everything was B&W.

WOW I didn't think about doing the B&W either. I like the crispness B&W renders. Nice job. Have to give that a try too.

mmmmm....I actually like the non HDR better on this one. I seem to get better results from using a single exposure and PP copies of the origional. It doesn't have the "pop" that bracketed shots have, but for me anyway, it helps with the movements encountered in the wind. Just a thought. We have to keep trying until we get it the way WE want it.

Heres one of mine. 3 shots, 0, +2 and -2. I only posted the HDR. Great shots by the way!

I too see it as you are standing on the side of a hill. The top of the barn is only very slightly out of level. Looks good.

Looks like your +1 stop may have "fuzzied" things a little in the stack up. When things are moving around, as in breezy conditions, I try a single shot and PP exposures to get a psuedo HDR. It seems to work better than no HDR at all. (Though my eyes ain't what they used to be)

Have you ever tried picturenaut? It's a free dowload and seems to work fairly well.

I have to ask, I am new to HDR photography. How do you get HDR photos of wildlife? I thought they are aways moving, it would be pretty hard to get three of the same poses? hope its not to dumb of a question.

You can do a psuedo HDR with one shot that will work if the subject is moving, but they don't seem to have the "pop" that bracketed shots have. (pp the exposure with copies of original)
