Thank you all for your kind words. I am still hoping for some "spring" birds soon.
While waiting impatiently for spring, I thought I would post some winter birds.
There is a nursery near Ogden that has a really good selection a little later in the year, but that doesn't help us right now.
Thanks for the reminder Mike. I have a bad case of cabin fever, so I need the encouragement.

Wonderful series Earl. It shows the power of moving water.

I really like your work here. You might consider posting these on the post processing forum as well. I am sure Linda would welcome your contribution.

No problem Roger. I can just turn into a ghost so they can't see me.
These are in response to Linda's challenge. The original (number 3) was taken at Hebgen Lake just before sunrise at the end of blue hour. Number 1 is much cooler and is similar to what it looked like about 20 minutes earlier. The second has been warmed and shows what the lake looked like about 20 minutes later. I think there is a distinct difference in mood between #1 and #2.
Thank you magnetoman. Glad you enjoyed.
I don't know if it is your best, but it is truly excellent.

Thank you Linda. It doesn't involve anything complicated, but it was still fun.
A while back I was asked how I was able to get so close to birds without them flying away before I could get the shot. Since obviously a telephoto lens had no part in this, I was forced to explain the technique. the first step is to initiate an out -of-body experience and to become ethereal. The second step is to use my telekinetic abilities to transport the bird to a favorable spot. Then, since the bird could not see the photographer, I was able to approach as closely as I wished. I enlisted a friend to demonstrate this technique. The first photo is the spot where I wanted to shoot the bird. The second shows the bird before transport. The third shows the photographer before I explained to her how to become ghostly, and the fourth shows how she was able to approach closely after I teleported the bird to the correct spot. These abilities can be acquired by most people by reading a good book on photoshop.
