Very nice shot Marg and the sky is fine.

Thanks very much, Bill. I think I’ve decided to leave the blue sky in but to darken it a bit.

[quote=John N]I DID see the sky, and I think I would have noticed it even if I had not read the text first. The question for me is whether I'd want to do anything about it.
And I think I would. There's enough foiliage around to do some decent cloning and take the sky right out, but in doing so you'd highlight the trailer and other junk as well. Clone the lot out. Also, it may be down to different atmospherics out there but the truck looks a little on the red side to me. I'm used to seeing more brown in a well rusted vehicle. But that'd be U.K rust.[/quote

Thanks for your suggestions, John. I’m attaching the original for you to compare. It is still quite red but I clearly exaggerated it. The red is really what caught my eye in the first place. Maybe the red original is more like what you see across the pond.

A nice image!!! Marg
If the sky bothers you just crop it out! and maybe the old wrecker bed on the right.

Thanks for the nice comment and your suggestion, Frank!

Beautifully done, Marg. The blue of the sky fits in with other blue touches in the image; board across the center of the building, in Jeep headlight, etc. Looks like a prize winner to me. 😊

Thank you for that analysis, Joe! I’m not sure about prize winners but otherwise we think alike!

I am not a street photographer but sometimes a wannabe. Always have a camera with me and take the occasional shot from through the window of a moving car (hubby driving.) I’m hoping to try more when I can get out and about more freely.

Which do you prefer?
I see nothing wrong with either.

I believe I like the original better. Having the blues in the diagonal corners and the reds on opposite corners just “feels” more comfortable to me. I do think darkening the blue by a tiny bit will make me happy. Now to figure out how to do that! Lol

I'm wondering if tightening up picture would help. For example:

Thanks for your suggestion, revhen! I can see that and, in fact, one of my daughters preferred this tightened view. I’m afraid I miss having the red on both sides though.

The sky looks great. I think the photo would still be great without the sky but it detracts nothing and adds a bit to the overall photo in my opinion. You did a great job. Good luck.

Simple answer, no. I probably wouldn't have noticed it if you hadn't pointed it out JMHO
