I have NEVER EVER made use of "Craigslist" for anything.

E-Bay = Yes.... However = As I am a buyer who is always Aware - I ask questions of the product available. If I do Not get a reply, I do not make a purchase. And, I might add, I do NOT buy from overseas - No China, or Europe, South America either (Shipping takes way too long).

((Side Note))

The comment about "moving a ton of dirt by hand to get an ounce of gold" = in mining THAT is Not a very "bad" return. (Once a Private Miner here :-) ))

To avoid scams on ebay, message the seller first and keep a copy of the message in your email account and AGAIN, use PayPal for purchases. They will help if there's a problem.

I am looking to replace my funky old early 80's era tripod and started doing some research. Wow. There are so many choices it is astonishing.
From $24.99 pieces of junk to $1,000+ Gitzo's, there is a tripod for "everyone"...if you have enough money.
That being said, I don't. And with all brand and price snobbery aside, I am looking for a sub $100 outdoor-use tripod that is light enough to pack-n-go with, but sturdy enough to actually be confident with.
Now, before you say, "...you can't find a tripod worth a darn under $100..." I am seeking others opinions of their positive experiences and recommendations in this price range.
I should probably add that I am not sold on the ball head design, and other's experiences with this will be of value with the decision process.
Thank you.

Look for a good used tripod on ebay. I picked up a good Manfrotto for about $50. It's heavy but I don't mind the weight as it is very stable in any conditions.

And then there will be a lot of barely used D850s for sale cheap.

Love these shots. The only thing that would have made it better is if Garcia and Magnussen could have pulled it out, although I think Garcia set a new track record.

But I LIKE it when Ford or Porsche wins

Three drivers broke the former track record Ford, Chevy and Porsche but I think you're correct that Garcia had the fastest time.

In Stevens Point Wisconsin about 20 years was an ad for a new Cadillac for $100.00. No one paid any attention to it. Until a teen ager went to buy the car. The woman sold it to him for the $100.00. She said her husband had filed for divorce and she was getting rid of the car before her soon-to-be ex-husband gave it to his girlfriend.

Rare, but it happens. I once picked up a Pennysaver (want ads and for sale paper) and saw a really nice motor home for $100. I called to see if it was a misprint and it wasn't, but it had already been sold.

I don't think that your current DSLR's are dog meat but if it is I would be very happy as I can buy them for cheap.

Yep, and during the last 15 minutes of the GT race, I got great video of some bumping fenders with parts coming off and flying around at the corner before the chicane.

Thanks, I was all over the track but spent most of the time near the IMSA video platform on turn 5 doing video and photos. Again this year the last 15-20 minutes were the best. I plan on being there for many years to come

Yes but this year the GT cars ran from 3:00 to 5:40 so the light was better to photograph in. The practice, qualifying and first race was all late morning to early afternoon though. And, though I got some decent photos, I was mainly doing video this year.
