The canon EF 75- 300mm is not a great lens, but reasonably priced and takes decent photos. There is one for sale on this site today for $90. I use it for birds in my yard at 30 to 50 feet. If you want longer reach look at this site, eBay, and Craigs List.

This is a quick edit in PS Express on my iPad. I used about 4 tools to edit.

Take the assembly to a hardware store and get 2 star type lock washers (one for each side). You may also need a longer bolt.

Route 6 (Loveland Pass Road) is a great scenic drive up and over the top of the Continental Divide. Photo opps to east and west. The historic mining towns of George Town, Silver Plume and Idaho Springs all have museums of the town history. In Idaho Springs is the Argo Mine and historic Gold Mill that has guided tours including the mine. George Town has become a pretty trendy town with good restaurants and is now a four seasons area. George Town has the historic Loop Rail Road which has about 1 hr ride with narrators explaining the history in the mining industry.
As you approach George Town on I70 there is a pull out that offers photo opps of the town. But, turn around because the rocky slope usually has mountain goats running around. I’m amazed how sure footed they are on the steep slope.

Cleaning the contacts is pretty straight forward. Cue tips moistened with rubbing alcohol and lightly clean the contacts on the lens and the camera. If that does not solve the problem then I would send it to Canon for repair.
I hope she is installing and locking the lens properly. I have the EFS 18-135 IS USM nano and it works just fine for me.

My wife has been using a Kindle or 4 years. Mostly, she reads books off Amazon, but also browse the internet. No complaints. She has never mentioned screen glare.

I have worked in construction 50+years. About 25 years ago I started using knee pads. Do not get cheap models. The ones I still use are hard shell type with thick padding (HD or Lowes). Also, stay off your knees as much as possible. I take to sitting on by butt a lot. I also have 2 wheeled stools I still use on jobs. I custom built one to my exact needs from parts. The week point on many is the wheels. Northern Tool carries several types. I have had orthoscopic surgery on my left knee twice and right knee once. At 74 I have been pain free for years.

It is a House Finch. A Purple Finch would have more color and the head would be entirely purple.

I agree with the previous posts in that she already has a good body and a good lens for her interest in sports. I agree that the EFS 18-55 would be a decent addition, but a better choice would be the canon EFS 18-135 which is my general walk around lens. At. 18 mm + it is good for landscapes with enough reach for other situations.

The last time I was at Autozone the 50/50 was cheaper than full strength. 2 Gals of 50/50 was about a year 50 cents less than 1 gal of full strength.

Yea, everyone seems to be making them suckers now.
I wonder who made Sears brand.

In the hay day of Sears their shop vacs and many power hand power tools were made by Edison Electric here in the states. As sears business declined they pulled the plug on Edison and sourced from Asia. Since 90% of Edison’s business was with Sears they were in dire straights. Enter Home Depot who bought Edison and renamed the tools Husky. If you look at a Husky large vac you will see similarities to Craftsman vacs of old. I still have and use a Craftsman vac. Edison’s mistake was having too many eggs (sales) in one basket.
I was not talking about Shop Vac Brand. Sears may have sold Shop Vac brand after they dumped Edison.
