"A photo tells 1000 words" (not sure how you say it) , well i think we said the 1000 words in this thread, none were positive about the supposedly proof photos.

How many of you would accept the group photo as a very good result from a professional photographer. Put aside photographers so called intention to deliver with intention so they dont run off with the picture, and all that other crap that supposed to defend why those poor quality pictures.
How many of you Pro's in here would take that shot with the settings taken ? It doesn't look to me like it was a beautiful sunny day where you could get some help and drop the flash. Why wasn't a flash used?

I am willing to bet, the original photo is underexposed. I spendt a lot of time, not using a flash, and it was not cause "Oh i like the natural lightning", (in some cases I do, but that's from an artistic view) . I did it first of all because I wanted to learn how to use the camera and know about it's limitation. And boy I learned much from that. And finally I was ready for a good flash. Because now I know the limitations. That photographers should have known his/her limitations, and for me those samples raises questions. If that's the level of pro, then I am a pro as well.

Of course we know very little about the agreement between the photographer and the couple. But for me it doesn't matter. This is the UHH classroom :) and the fact is the pictures shows low quality with some expensive gear which leads most of us to the assumption that the gear was in the wrong hands.

Objections?

nice :) thanx for this link.
I was curious, so I gave it a try. It told me I need a Nikon D750 (which I currently use) and the Sigma 12-24 or Nikon 24-70. I have neither , but I've been looking at the Sigma 12-24 for a while, just have not decided.
As for the 24-70 , it would be grate , but I do have something else which I'm happy with for now.

I've been reading this thread with much interest, cause during my learning curve I've struggled with same problem. I mean this is how I learned much about exposure. The need to use light, what happens with treating underexposed pictures, and other forms of photographer error.

From all the comments here it made me raise the question ? did he used any light/flash ? Since I've been shooting a long time without flash, this is the biggest problem I faced. Tried to avoid noise all the time, and using low ISO as possible should eliminate that, I thought. It's just not the case with underexposed photos. I tended to be happy with underexposed photos, cause I knew how much "magic" I could apply to them in order to save them. Only to discover how much noise I have to apply in order to bring back the details I wanted. Especially when not using any type of light.

F1.4 was used , and makes me think he tried to compensate for poor light, and need it a little speed to avoid blur. Picture became underexposed and had to recover details and shadows. That will most likely result in even more noise.

If the photographer is a so called Pro, then I want to upgrade myself from advanced amateur, Entusiast/Pro :D

Have a grate day folx

Lovely capture for me as it brings back childhood memories. I can only re-live those years through my two young boys now.
Wish I was a kid again :)

Beautiful. Reminds me a little of where I grew up in the USA's Rocky Mountains of central Wyoming. It was the ranch my grandfather homesteaded. My father, also born in 1918, bought it in 1945.

Glad I can show something you can relate too.
It always melt my heart being here. It saddens me to see how the place slowly is dying. Every time I am here, someone has past away. Old place, old culture, old people that has watched over me, and I helped.

Relatives of the family have taken over the place, and they give me the opportunity to return.

Sitting here with some old style home brew liquer , and gasping over the place as it is my last day here before returning to Norway.

Still on vacation , visiting my childhood summer places, in the plains of the Carpatian mountains. Where my grand grand mother (born 1918, died 2015) lived to see five generations grow up. We learned to work, and not be picky. Back then we had no Internet, IPads, Ipods,Blackberries or any other berries, just the ones you could enjoy eating. I still miss her, but I will never forget her or the place.

I always return to this place every time I visit Romania.
Time is just a limitation, memories are forever.

Enjoy my childhood place

I am on vacation in Romania , visiting my relatives living in a beatufull remote place outside the big cities, and they have many cats living here. Besides the turkeys, chickens, cocks and dog. :)

I love the eyes of this cat.

Cheers
